Level Ground was founded in 1997 with a focus on fair trade and a passion for specialty coffee. We believe great, fair trade, organic coffee should be accessible to everyone. We started roasting coffee after-hours with a borrowed roaster in batches of 4lb coffee in Victoria, BC. Our first farmer partnership was with a co-op in Colombia and since then, we have worked with over 5,000 farmers across seven countries. We source high quality beans from organic and fair trade small-scale farmers. At Level Ground, we love the planet every day. Our patented roasting tech radically reduces emissions and we use 13 streams of recycling and composting, keeping us landfill free for over 20 years! Job Overview As a Coffee Roaster & Packager at Level Ground your role will be to take responsibility for the roasting, packaging, and preparation of delicious coffee that reflects our values and our producers’ work. What you will be doing Operating commercial coffee roasting equipment Operating packaging and labeling equipment Cleaning and maintaining roasting, packaging, and processing areas Preparing orders and supporting production workflows Completing other duties as required to support the Roastery and Operations team What you will need Valid Food Safe certificate (can be attained during employment) Basic computer skills Physically ability to lift up to 40lbs Demonstrated enthusiasm, determination, and adaptability Reliable team player who enjoys smiling, listening, and contributing to a positive work environment Growth and learning mindset What we offer $20/hr starting wage Extended medical benefits RRSP Contributions Flexible scheduling options Green transportation subsidy Product discounts Work Conditions Full-time and Part-time, permanent opportunities available We are looking for day, evening, and weekend availability - evening and weekend team members may be eligible for shift premiums or bonuses Office located in Central Saanich, BC Application Instructions If this exciting role with Level Ground speaks to you, please apply with a cover letter and resume .
