This may include, but is not limited to Arc, Hardfacing, Brazing and Tacking.</li>\n <li>Weld and hardface components on weld positioner.</li>\n <li>Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.</li>\n <li>Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with to ensure conformance with specifications.</li>\n <li>Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.</li>\n <li>Weld separately or in combination, using hardfacing powders, rods, and other alloys.</li>\n <li>Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to specifications.</li>\n <li>Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.</li>\n <li>Connect and turn regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained.</li>\n <li>Determine required equipment and welding methods, and welding techniques.</li>\n <li>Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.</li>\n <li>Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.</li>\n <li>Chip or grind off excess hardfacing using hand grinders, or other equipment.</li>\n <li>Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.</li>\n <li>Position and secure workpieces, using hoists, cranes, or hand tools.</li>\n <li>Preheat workpieces prior to welding using torches or heating furnaces.</li>\n <li>Guide and direct flames or electrodes on or across workpieces to melt or build up metal.</li>\n <li>Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.</li>\n <li>Clean or degrease parts, using wire brushes, portable grinders, or degreaser.</li>\n <li>Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and operations.</li>\n <li>Some repair expertise may be required, such as, but not limited to, repairing bits with minor hardfacing.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience and Education:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma, minimum requirement</li>\n <li>Experience with hardfacing operations, a plus.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Be able to follow engineering prints and specifications</li>\n <li>Know proper use and care of manufacturing equipment</li>\n <li>Be able to use computer as necessary to obtain specifications and prints</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Who’s Going to be Successful in this Job?</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work 12 hours on your feet (with lunch and 2 breaks)</li>\n <li>2+ years of experience in a machine shop/manufacturing facility is preferred</li>\n <li>Experience with reading part drawings/blueprints is preferred</li>\n <li>Know proper use and care of manufacturing equipment</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Successful candidates will demonstrates knowledge, skills or abilities in the following&nbsp;:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Be able to use computer as necessary to obtain specifications and prints</li>\n <li>Production and Processing</li>\n <li>Quality Control Analysis</li>\n <li>Reading Comprehension</li>\n <li>Control Precision</li>\n <li>Manual Dexterity</li>\n <li>Near Vision</li>\n <li>Problem Sensitivity</li>\n <li>Teamwork &amp; Collaboration</li>\n <li>Reliability &amp; Adaptability</li>\n <li>Problem Solving</li>\n <li>Communication</li>\n <li>Integrity</li>\n <li>Initiative</li>\n <li>Stress Tolerance/Resilience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Why Would I Want to Join the Team?</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive Wages</li>\n <li>Opportunities for Professional &amp; Personal Growth and Learning</li>\n <li>Great Health &amp; Wellness Benefits</li>\n <li>Vacation, Sick &amp; Holiday Pay</li>\n</ul>\n<p><i><strong>NOV is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
