Description
Fortify Building Solutions is a building materials and manufacturing branch serving customers across West Tennessee and the surrounding region with metal roofing, wall panels, trim, post-frame building packages, steel building components, and related construction materials. The Jackson branch supports sales, light manufacturing, supply chain coordination, customer fulfillment, logistics, and project execution for residential, agricultural, commercial, and light industrial building customers. As part of Cornerstone Building Brands, Fortify combines local branch service with the scale, product breadth, and operational support of a national building products platform.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the branch operations team and ensuring the safe, efficient execution of daily production and fulfillment activities. This role manages the team responsible for manufacturing metal panels, trim, and accessories, while also coordinating staging, loading, delivery, and overall branch operational flow. The Production Supervisor helps maintain production quality, supports inventory accuracy, drives safety compliance, and ensures customer orders are completed on time and to specification. This position also requires basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination of repairs on branch equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on operations leader who is comfortable managing people, solving problems in real time, and jumping in wherever needed to keep the branch running. This role is best suited for someone who understands that operations exists to support execution: producing quality material, loading orders accurately, delivering on time, and keeping the sales team confident that what they sell can be fulfilled.
Required / Strongly Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience leading a team in operations, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, logistics, construction materials, metal building products, or a similar hands-on environment. Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach, hold employees accountable, assign daily priorities, and maintain a productive team culture. Willingness to work side-by-side with the team when needed, including helping with production, loading, staging, delivery preparation, inventory, housekeeping, and problem-solving. Ability to manage daily branch execution across panel production, trim production, accessories, order staging, deliveries, and customer fulfillment. Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, perform minor maintenance, identify problems early, and coordinate repairs when needed. Strong safety mindset with the ability to enforce safe work practices around forklifts, machinery, loading, deliveries, and general branch operations. Ability to read and understand work orders, production tickets, measurements, customer requirements, and order details. Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities, react to changing needs, and keep production moving without losing control of quality or accuracy. Comfortable communicating with sales, customers, drivers, vendors, and leadership to keep orders moving and resolve issues quickly. Forklift experience is strongly preferred. Experience with metal panels, trim, roll-forming equipment, building materials, construction supply, or light manufacturing is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; college, trade school, or technical training is a plus but not required. Must have a strong ownership mindset, reliability, and the willingness to do whatever is reasonably necessary to keep the business executing at a high level.
