To learn more about what we offer, please refer to UW’s&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.uwyo.edu/hr/_files/docs/employee-benefits/benefit-summary.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Benefits Summary</a>.</p>\n<p><b>JOB TITLE:&nbsp;</b> Medical Assistant</p>\n<p><b>JOB PURPOSE:</b></p>\n<p>Under the responsibility and supervision of a physician/practitioner, prepare patients for examination; assist physician/resident/practitioner with routine medical procedures. &nbsp;Position is located in the Albany Community Health Clinic in Laramie, Wyoming.</p>\n<p><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Greet patients and ascertain problems to be examined; take and record pertinent vital signs, and prepare patients for examination.</li>\n <li>Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.</li>\n <li>Administer immunizations and medications as directed.</li>\n <li>Assemble and use equipment including catheters and oxygen supplies.</li>\n <li>Give cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), record vital signs, and assist during medical emergencies, as directed.</li>\n <li>Answer phones, take messages, and perform telephone triage when needed.</li>\n <li>Maintain adequate supplies in cast, procedure, and examining rooms; maintain cleanliness of work area; report items for re-ordering.</li>\n <li>Assist physician in outpatient procedures or other tests.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Inventory narcotics and drug supplies.</li>\n <li>Clean instruments; wrap and label for autoclave sterilization and return to designated location.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>COMPETENCIES:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Consistency</li>\n <li>Sensitivity</li>\n <li>Service Orientation</li>\n <li>Quality Orientation</li>\n <li>Work Tempo</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</b> &nbsp;</p>\n<p>Education:<b> High School Diploma or GED</b></p>\n<p>Experience:<b> 1 year work-related experience</b></p>\n<p>Required licensure, certification, registration, or other requirements:</p>\n<ul>\n <li><b>Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)</b></li>\n <li><b>Graduate of a medical assistant program</b></li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;</b>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li><b>Demonstrate experience in a family practice setting.</b></li>\n <li><b>Creative problem solving.</b></li>\n <li><b>Conflict resolution skills.</b></li>\n <li><b>Experience with creating and implementing standard nursing processes.</b></li>\n <li><b>Demonstrate experience with EMR, electronic workflows and tickler processes.</b></li>\n <li><b>Demonstrate experience with Microsoft Teams approach in a clinical setting.</b></li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS:</b>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Complete the online application.
