    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Primary Job Functions:</strong></p>\n<p>Clinical Responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates the ability to assess recipient needs and strengths utilizing the CANS</li>\n <li>Identifies individualized goals and objectives and plans for appropriate services</li>\n <li>Monitors recipients to secure placement in the least restrictive environment</li>\n <li>Provides ongoing monitoring of recipients’ progress and needs as assessed in the CANS</li>\n <li>Advocates on behalf of the recipients to secure community resources</li>\n <li>Effectively collaborates with the Nova Mobile/Nova Washington First Episode Psychosis Program treatment team members and outside sources in the delivery of case management services to ensure goals are being achieved</li>\n <li>Ensures that services provided are meaningful, respectful and promote self-determination</li>\n <li>Effectively demonstrates the application of youth/young adult specific competencies</li>\n <li>Participates in the development of crisis intervention and support plans for each participant</li>\n <li>Assists with meeting the needs of participants by facilitating their ability to live independently, obtain employment, achieve educational goals, and/or function in the community more effectively</li>\n <li>Provides transportation or links to transportation services when necessary</li>\n <li>Provides psycho-educational services and co-leads multi-family groups</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as a Nova Mobile/Nova Washington First Episode Psychosis Program team member as assigned by the supervisor</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Supervision and Consultation</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Seeks clinical supervision and consultation as needed</li>\n <li>Accepts and employs suggestions for improvement</li>\n <li>Actively works to enhance case management skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Clinical Record Keeping</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Documents in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policy</li>\n <li>Documents appropriate, complete, and comprehensive CANS assessments to identify  recipient needs, strengths, and planned interventions</li>\n <li>Documents measurable and specific goals in the individualized service plan</li>\n <li>Documents in a clear and concise manner ISP goals addressed with each service provided</li>\n <li>Maintains current documentation of participant demographic information, releases of information, etc.</li>\n <li>Documents case disposition, case closings, follow-up and referrals</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Courteous and respectful attitudes towards recipients, visitors and co-workers</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Treats recipients with care, dignity and compassion</li>\n <li>Respects recipient’s privacy and confidentiality</li>\n <li>Is pleasant and cooperative with others</li>\n <li>Assists recipients and visitors as needed</li>\n <li>Personal values don’t inhibit ability to relate and care for others</li>\n <li>Is sensitive to the recipient’s needs, expectations and individual differences</li>\n <li>Is gentle and calm to recipients and families</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Case Load Management:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Effectively manages caseload based on recipient needs</li>\n <li>Meets AltaPointe productivity standards</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Administrative and Other Related Duties as Assigned:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Actively participates in Performance Improvement activities</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Bachelor’s degree in a mental health discipline.  Knowledge in youth/young adult specialty, outlined below, to be attained within six (6) months of employment:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in the youth/young adult population</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of growth and development of youth/young adult recipients as related to all intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects of their development</li>\n <li>Knowledge of developmental disabilities and mental retardation in the youth/young adult population</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of behavior management and parenting issues</li>\n <li>Knowledge of cultural diversity</li>\n <li>Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention and interventions common to acute psychotic recipients, as well as, to non-violent crisis intervention practice</li>\n <li>Knowledge of effects of physical/sexual/emotional abuse and neglect issues</li>\n <li>Knowledge of available community resources as applied to youth/young adult</li>\n <li>Certified by the Alabama State Department of Mental Health to provide adult and/or youth/young adult case management services </li>\n <li>Knowledge of the CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment)</li>\n <li>Experience facilitating behavioral health therapy groups with children, adolescents, and adults</li>\n <li>Valid Alabama’s driver’s license</li>\n</ul>",
