    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Summary Job Description</strong></p><p>Covenant Day School is hiring part-time lower school Academic Resources Learning Specialists who will work on a team that provides services to students identified for specialized instructional needs in support of the school&rsquo;s mission. The available role(s) will support the classroom learning experiences of several lower school students with individualized skill building sessions throughout the school year. Reporting to the lower school Academic Resources Associate Director, the positions serve during the approximately ten-month academic school year that begins in August 2026. The positions are part-time and salaried (exempt) with a likely schedule of working 22-24 hours over three or four days each school week.</p><p>At Covenant Day School, our vision is to transform hearts and minds for the glory of Jesus Christ. We are committed to welcoming one another, to striving to honor each other consistently, to walking in humility toward one another, and to examining the Scriptures with one another.</p><p><strong>Essential Functions and Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Duties Include:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Serve students&rsquo; academic support and coaching needs through individualized sessions or in classroom settings as assigned&nbsp;</li><li>Partner with the academic resources associate director to provide educational opportunities for faculty on academic resources topics</li><li>Select instructional resources based on class and individual student needs and in collaboration and partnership with other faculty members as appropriate</li><li>Provide encouraging feedback to students on their work and progress</li><li>Communicate regularly with teachers and parents regarding students&rsquo; needs and progress</li><li>Prepare adequately to accomplish objectives of therapy sessions</li><li>Take advantage of professional development opportunities and keep up-to-date with developments in appropriate subject areas</li><li>Have an attitude of Christian service and model Christian principles and behavior to students and colleagues</li><li>Additional duties as assigned by the lower school Academic Resources Associate Director or Academic Resources Director&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Qualifications:</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Committed follower of Jesus Christ, reflecting a desire to serve Him and others in work and life</li><li>Eager to serve in a Christian learning environment, modeling diligence, perseverance, resilience, patience, courage, and Christian discipleship</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in special education; experience in academic resources work preferred</li><li>Teacher certification preferred</li><li>Orton-Gillingham, NILD, and/or multi-sensory math certifications strongly preferred</li><li>Able to be flexible according to the changing needs of students</li><li>Willingness to work with lower, middle, or high school students as needed</li><li>Positive attitude and a genuine love for and ability to connect with school youth</li><li>Passion for learning, strong classroom management skills, and a willingness to work collaboratively</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and faculty/staff</li><li>Demonstrated ability to serve with initiative and pro-active approaches; computer skills as applicable to effective teaching</li><li>Computer skills as applicable for effectively fulfilling the role</li><li>Able to walk across campus and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds</li></ul></div>\n",
