Responsibilities Position summary: The Brake Press Operator uses press brakes and miscellaneous equipment to create, shape, and customize materials into a variety of forms dictated by Fabrication plans. Reads and interprets detailed and complex instructions to produce the desired forms. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Following the Safety policy, including PPE Setting up and operating press brakes and other equipment on a variety of parts of all shapes and sizes Checking products against standards for conformance to specifications Following specifications in job orders, verbal instructions, and blueprints Observing machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction Performing minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures. Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction. Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum of 2 years of related experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Math skills Ability to read blueprints Knowledge of standard and metric measurements Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques Self-motivated and detail-oriented Team orientation Crane operation certification required Forklift operation certification required LOTO certification preferred, but not required Availability to work on Saturdays as needed Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language ADA Requirements: Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Visual: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes. Job Conditions: The worker is subject to: inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to: hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. #LI-DNP
