font-size: 12pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Temporary full time Clinical Extern opportunities are available at Louise Marshall Hospital, site of North Wellington Health Care.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">A Clinical Externship will allow students who are currently completing their BScN or PN programs to be immersed in the clinical settings within the hospital and they are employed as unregulated care providers. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">The extern will be assigned with a primary nurse and assist with ADL’s for patients.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">These positions are non-union. </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">HOURS OF WORK</span>:   </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Must be available to work 12 hr. day and night shifts as well as 2 out of 4 weekends </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">                                                                         </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> Have successfully completed year 3 of RN program or year 2 of an RPN program.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> Have current BCLS and immunization requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> Possess ability to work in collaboration with the health care team and preceptor nurse in the provision of patient care.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> Ability to follow instructions accurately.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> Provide resume plus two (2) letters of reference including one from a Nursing Instructor.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Satisfactory performance and attendance required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired.<br></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">RESPONSIBILITIES</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">To work under the direct supervision of a nurse in the provision of patient care according to the plan of care.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">To aid with routine activities of patient care such as hygiene, grooming, comfort, safety, mobility, nutrition, response to call bells and observation.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> To provide orientation to patients and families on admission.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> To observe patients and report findings to the nursing staff.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> To demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving and team work skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> To attend staff meetings and educational sessions. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> To seek assistance when unsure.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> To demonstrate understanding and commitment to safety practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif;
