Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities & Qualifications</h2>\n<p>The Novelis Guthrie, KY team is seeking a WWT/Process Operations Technician with a desire to combine their skills with our capabilities to contribute to our continued success!</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities:</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Complete work in a safe, timely and professional manner.</li>\n <li>Recognize and mitigate safety risk in all aspects of job and communicate effectively to others about risk and exposures.</li>\n <li>Monitor instrumentation and control devices.</li>\n <li>Make product and process decisions based on graphical and statistical analysis.</li>\n <li>Practice good housekeeping.</li>\n <li>Work on assigned preventative maintenance tasks.</li>\n <li>Learn and grow in a team environment.</li>\n <li>Use email to communicate effectively across departments and locations.</li>\n <li>Give and receive feedback openly, honestly, and respectfully.</li>\n <li>Rectify abnormal upset conditions.</li>\n <li>Develop projects to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.</li>\n <li>Communicate issues to EHS, operations, engineering, process, and maintenance teams.</li>\n <li>Implement and verify proper EH&S conditions for the Wastewater/Process.</li>\n <li>Implement and validate preventative maintenance systems for the wastewater systems and process.</li>\n <li>Responsible for day-to-day operations (RO CIP, Clean filter press, etc.)</li>\n <li>Check in with on shift operators during production for issues and concerns.</li>\n <li>Develop and validate sampling strategies for wastewater processes.</li>\n <li>Understand auxiliary systems that are impacted and impact wastewater processes (Chem section, Quench, City, etc.)</li>\n <li>Perform basic mechanical maintenance duties such as pumps rebuild, piping repairs (no welding required), valve repairs/replacement, gasket replacements, pump skids cleaning, heat exchangers and filters cleaning.</li>\n <li>Perform PM plans such as lubrications, inspections, and cleaning.</li>\n <li>Support the Maintenance Team for extended breakdowns or troubleshooting.</li>\n <li>Submit work notifications as needed.</li>\n <li>Tote inventory management and communication with process team of levels.</li>\n <li>Conduct jar testing and troubleshoot/ drive resolutions from the results.</li>\n <li>View IBA and understand operational indicators.</li>\n <li>Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Minimum Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Completed High School or have a GED. Associate degree in a technical field preferred.</li>\n <li>Have a proven foundation and value for safety. Our priority is ensuring all our employees get home safe every day.</li>\n <li>Have a minimum four years of work history/experience (Wastewater Systems preferred)</li>\n <li>Have the ability and desire to work in and participate in a team environment.</li>\n <li>Can demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.</li>\n <li>Have good written and verbal communication skills.</li>\n <li>Have working knowledge of software applications, email, etc.</li>\n <li>Comprehensive knowledge of all Wastewater/Process processes (reasons for chemical additions, regenerations, ROs, etc.)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Functional Capacity Requirements:</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Working in heat >80° and cold < 60°</li>\n <li>Lifting to 50 lbs. occasionally.</li>\n <li>Climbing stairs and ladders.</li>\n <li>Bending, twisting, kneeling, sometimes in close quarters.</li>\n <li>Flexibility to work 12-hours shifts in a 24/7 environment.</li>\n <li>Must meet minimum requirements for overhead crane/mobile equipment operation including annual physical and vision exams; some of these tasks will require operating overhead maintenance crane applying rigging fundamentals.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Normal Work Schedule</h2>\n<p>While shift schedules will vary, Operations Technicians on-shift will work rotating 12-hour shifts throughout the month and paid overtime will be required when needed.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. As Novelis’ newest facility Guthrie will house a heat treatment and pretreatment line that will serve the North American automotive market and employ 125 residents. In addition to hunting fishing and hiking residents enjoy the Guthrie Transportation Museum which is the hub of the city’s renewal efforts.
