Responsibilities include but are not limited to supervising activities related to safety, quality, personnel, assets, inventory, KPIs and production of all new tools and tooling components originating in the department.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Responsibility:  Safety / Housekeeping</p>\n<ul>\n <li> Sustain a strong 5s culture through maintaining initiatives and identifying new opportunities for improvement</li>\n <li> Support 5s training opportunities for all individuals</li>\n <li> Enforce adherence to and drive continuous improvement in all matters of safety</li>\n <li> Identify areas where safety corrective actions are needed and drive implementation</li>\n <li> Maintain 5s and safety KPIs, for report out to upper management team on a weekly and monthly basis</li>\n <li> Ensure the department is “tour and audit” ready at all times</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Responsibility:  Production</p>\n<ul>\n <li> Responsible for meeting or exceed new tooling build goals dates, budgets, etc.</li>\n <li> Support manufacturing operations by meeting or exceeding requirements for the production of spare tooling components and repairs.</li>\n <li> Understand and communicate department goals and objectives to all team members</li>\n <li> Manage personnel and assets to ensure efficient operations</li>\n <li> Establish strong bond and dedication between management and hourly workforce through communication, feedback and recognition</li>\n <li> Develop and implement an action plan to improve employee engagement score</li>\n <li> Responsible for coaching and developing team and providing them with the tools necessary to succeed</li>\n <li> Meet or exceed all KPI expectations </li>\n <li> Follow all processes related to quality certifications (ISO, TS)</li>\n <li> Manage resources to limit and minimize inefficiencies and unnecessary overtime and cost overruns</li>\n <li> Ensure equipment is maintained and run to specification to reduce premature wear, failure or non-performance of manufacturing assets </li>\n <li> Maintain ownership of machines – both maintenance and cleanliness to ensure long life and operational effectiveness</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Responsibility:  Quality (Should include Employee Training & Development) </p>\n<ul>\n <li> Ensure employees have adequate training to support operational processes</li>\n <li> Ensure all process documentation is followed and identify processes for improvement</li>\n <li> Establish a quality-first culture. Manufacturing of non-conforming tools and components cannot be accepted </li>\n <li> Ensure all tools have the necessary preventative maintenance to avoid quality issues and maximize uptime</li>\n <li> Drive continuous improvement activities related to the quality of new tools and spare parts.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Responsibility:  Customer Satisfaction</p>\n<ul>\n <li> This position will be participating in customer tours where needed</li>\n <li> Hourly workforce will be required to help give tours and explain their duties as it relates to producing quality product for our customers</li>\n <li> Supervisors will be responsible for manufacturing product that meets customer acceptance criteria</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Responsibility:  Cost Reduction</p>\n<ul>\n <li> Implementing Lean tools such as Kaizen and 5s activities will be required to meet cost reduction goals</li>\n <li> All processes must continually reviewed to ensure the most efficient methodologies are utilized</li>\n <li> Participation in Kaizen events will be required </li>\n <li> Supervisors must be responsible for identifying and implementing cost savings projects throughout the year</li>\n</ul>\n<p>•           Position will be required to understand and utilize 5-Why and other problem solving tools</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Directly supervises various numbers of associates, skilled and unskilled.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar tooling / tool room leadership position.  Journeyman Tool & Die maker with 5 + years related work experience preferred. Experience leading Kaizen and 5s implementations.  Previous responsibility for identifying and maintaining Key Performance Indicators.
