Join us in shaping the future of healthcare at Hudson Regional Hospital.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Specific Competencies:&nbsp;</strong><br>Directly accountable for preventing hospital acquired infections related to hand-hygiene performance of self and staff<br>Demonstrates ability to adapt to varied age specific patient populations to include adolescent, adult and geriatrics.<br>Ensures all supplies and equipment are available for each case.<br>Reviews pertinent chart data and assesses patient perioperatively and documents appropriately.<br>Assists in the formulation and delivery of teaching to the patient and family in a manner that is easily understood<br>Prioritizes workload and prepares for the specific operative procedure utilizing appropriate Preference Card/Case Cart Requisition.<br>Assists in the positioning, skin preparation and draping of the patient according policy and procedure.<br>Follows department and hospital protocols on the handling and documentation of surgical specimens.<br>Follows hospital protocols regarding surgical counts and the documentation of same.<br>Collects, interprets and communicates data that is relevant to the patient&#39;s care.<br>Cleans and maintains equipment at the end of each case.<br>Maintains accepted standards of aseptic technique and manages sterile field utilizing proper infection control practices when both scrubbed and circulating.<br>Demonstrates a working knowledge of the surgical procedure, equipment, instrumentation and supplies.&nbsp;</p><p>Works in Endoscopy procedures as assigned.<br>Responds appropriately to any unanticipated or emergency situation that could arise intra-operatively or in the immediate postoperative period.<br>Able to troubleshoot when there is a problem with equipment of special instrumentation.<br>Provides complete endorsement of patient to PACU nurse<br>Collaborates with Materials Management and assists with inventory control and checks expiration dates.<br>Follows policy and procedure for handling and discarding contaminated and hazardous materials.<br>Conducts &quot;time-out&quot; Universal Protocol appropriately.<br>Prepares supplies for next days&#39; assignment on case carts.</p><p><br></p><p>EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:<br>Assoc .
