Schedule of Work : 2nd and 3rd Shift (3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am), 35 hours/week
DMA Mission: The Dallas Museum of Art is a space of wonder and discovery where art comes alive.
The DMA will:
Place art and our diverse communities at the center around which all activities radiate. Pursue excellence in collecting and programming, present works of art across cultures and time, and be a driving force in contemporary art. Strengthen our position as a prominent, innovative institution, expanding the meaning and possibilities of learning and creativity.
Scope of the Position:
The Security Control Room Officer’s focus is to do all in their power to ensure that all people and all assets of the Dallas Museum of Art are kept safe and secured. The Security Control Room Officer uses closed-circuit television and a two-way radio system to observe and communicate activity inside the Museum and limited property surrounding the building. The Security Control Room Officer responds according to the DMA Standard of Operation (SOP) to all emergency situations; monitoring all building entrances, with special focus on staff and visitors, as well as contractor or vendor entrances in restricted areas. Frequent foot patrols are required, which include stairwells.
Work Schedule :
This position requires availability for the 1st shift (7am-3pm). Shifts may vary depending on operational needs of the museum, including weekdays, weekends, and potentially holidays. This position requires a commitment of working approximately 35 hours per week.
Essential Functions:
Monitors the security access control system. Work to ensure that all staff and visitors are registered properly before entering secured areas of the Museum. Provide lock and unlock services, per Standard Operating Procedures. Monitors and responds to fire alarms. Responds to medical emergencies. Renders First Aid or CPR if necessary. Contacts outside medical units/ambulances as necessary for medical/evacuation needs. Prepares immediately, distributes and files Incident Reports in a timely manner for all visitor or staff accidents/medical emergencies, security breaches, damages to works of art or other notable incidents. Secures/locks and monitors all entrance/exit doors outside of regular business hours. Unlocks appropriate all entrance/exit doors outside of regular business hours for authorized staff. Leads and directs all DMA fire and safety policies and procedures. Patrols DMA building, parking lot, and underground parking garage. Responds to parking violations and staff/visitor safety issues. Responds to all emergencies/alarms on all exit and stairwells. Steps in for gallery attendants when confronted with unruly guests when requested. Must be able to execute written daily activity and incident reports.
