Currently seeking Equipment Operator(s) for our roadway projects in Richmond, Virginia.</strong></p><p>The heavy equipment operator operates a variety of contractor equipment and properly maintains the equipment on a daily basis. &nbsp;</p><p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">***MUST BE SKILLED EXCAVATOR &amp; DOZER OPERATOR***</span></strong></p><p><span style='font-family: \"arial black\", sans-serif; color: rgb(235, 107, 86);'>Starting pay is based on skills and experience.</span></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Works with and assists in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with a backhoe, road grader or front-end loader.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.</p><p><strong>Supervisory Responsibility</strong></p><p>This position has no supervisory responsibilities.</p><p><strong>Position Type and Expected Hours of Work</strong></p><p>This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday &ndash; Friday, 7:00 a.m. &ndash; 5:00 p.m. with time provided for lunch, hours may vary. Work may be local or out of town in which case overnight stays are required. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.</p><p><strong>Travel/ Driving</strong></p><p>Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.</p><p>Driver&rsquo;s license is required.</p><p><strong>Required Education and Experience</strong></p><p>High school diploma or equivalent.</p><p>Four years&rsquo; experience involving the use of medium and heavy equipment, two of which must have been related to pipe operations.</p><p>Preferred Education and Experience: &nbsp;Valid CDL License.</p><p><strong>Position Type and Expected Hours of Work</strong></p><p>This is a full-time position. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday &ndash; 48 hours, 7:00 a.m. &ndash; 5:30 p.m. Monday &ndash; Thursday, and 7:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m. on Friday, with time provided for lunch, hours may vary.
