    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\">Job Description</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Work is performed under the continuing supervision of the Transportation Coordinator </span></li>\n<li><span>This work requires operating a passenger bus or van on assigned routes or on a demand response system.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span>Position Responsibilities</span></span><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span>:</span></span><span><br>Responsibilities of a Transportation Facilitator include, but are not limited to:<br> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Performs routine walk-around inspection on bus before accepting passengers; reports any defects to OPS Dispatcher/Lead on duty and fills out a vehicle defect form.  </span></li>\n<li><span>Safely operates a passenger bus on an assigned route, adhering promptly to time schedule.  Maintains order/discipline on bus at all times.  </span></li>\n<li><span>Prepares and records basic reports on discipline issues, trip deviation, mechanical malfunction of buses and equipment, accidents, and incidents.  </span></li>\n<li><span>The driver provides directions and information about the bus schedules. </span></li>\n<li><span>Monitors bus entry for passenger safety.  Update route as necessary for a safe and efficient ride.  </span></li>\n<li><span>Meet and greet visitors, staff and students with a smile.  </span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain discipline and safety on a bus with high school aged students</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span>Expectations of transportation facilitator and support staff:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Arrive at school by 6:30 a.m. </span></li>\n<li><span>Drive Monday-Friday.  6:30 a.m.  -9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.</span></li>\n<li><span>Drive the routes as designed/requested </span></li>\n<li><span>Drive local field trips periodically throughout the school year</span></li>\n<li><span>Participate in school-wide and individual professional development, including summer PD</span></li>\n<li><span>Make him/herself available to students, parents, and other staff members after school hours and on weekends by his/her personal cell phone or home phone. (As necessary)</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\">Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span>Partial Listing of Minimum Qualifications:</span></span><span><br> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Commercial Driver License (CDL) with School Bus &amp; Passenger Endorsement</span></li>\n<li><span>Graduation from high school (GED acceptable) and experience in bus or similar vehicle operation; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: </span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Demonstrated, substantive experience in the operation of large buses.  </span></li>\n<li><span>Has knowledge of bus operation and bus equipment.  </span></li>\n<li><span>Has considerable knowledge of motor vehicle laws, ordinances and safe driving practices, and streets and locations within the local district. </span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span>Compensation and Benefits</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>PTPLA  pay is highly competitive.<br>This position is exempt and will follow a 10-month work schedule.</span></li>\n<li><span>Robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance policy options. Application for these benefits may be made immediately upon employment.
