Description

Job Summary: As a working foreman you will be responsible for supervising a crew of Journeymen Industrial Mechanics and also performing hands on work yourself. Record repairs and maintenance performed. Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery. Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment. Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance. Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules. Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings. Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts. Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements. Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use. Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies. Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as discharges, or disciplinary measures. Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results. Operate heavy machinery such as manlifts, forklifts, and cranes. Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment. Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using various testing devices. Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery. Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear. Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs. Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems. This position requires daily travel to various client worksites mostly within the State of Florida. 15% travel outside of Florida but within the United States. Frequent overnight travel. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. Must have reliable transportation. Ability to work long, flexible hours and overtime as needed. Work Location and Travel: The main office is located at 1171 Grill Road, Van Wert, Ohio 45891. Travel to client and customer sites is required. Days and hours of work may vary at times to include some evenings and weekends. Work Environment: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday to Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required. This position is safety sensitive in nature, which means employees perform duties so fraught with risks of injury to self or others, or environmental injury, that even a momentary lapse of concentration or attention can have disastrous consequences. The working environment is often in harsh elements (hot/humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive hazards/risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others. Able to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
