This position helps ensure that all buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems are maintained in a safe, clean, and functional condition to support daily operations and parish activities.</p><p><br></p><h4><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></h4><p><br></p><p><strong>Facility Maintenance</strong></p><ul><li>Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment.</li><li>Complete assigned maintenance tickets and work orders in a timely and professional manner.</li><li>Track completed work and communicate updates regarding maintenance needs and repairs.</li><li>Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and facility issues.</li><li>Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems.</li><li>Monitor and maintain boilers, water heaters, and other facility equipment.</li><li>Assist with setup and teardown for parish, school, and special events.</li></ul><p><strong>Groundskeeping</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain outdoor areas including mowing, trimming, landscaping, and snow/ice removal.</li><li>Ensure sidewalks, parking lots, and entrances remain safe and accessible.</li><li>Monitor exterior lighting and signage.</li></ul><p><strong>Safety &amp; Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain compliance with safety regulations and diocesan/parish policies.</li><li>Identify and report safety hazards or needed repairs.</li><li>Assist with emergency preparedness and response procedures.</li><li>Ensure proper storage and handling of tools, chemicals, and equipment.</li></ul><p><strong>Cleaning &amp; General Support</strong></p><ul><li>Assist custodial staff as needed with cleaning and sanitation duties.</li><li>Support classroom, office, and ministry needs related to facilities.</li><li>Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.</li></ul><h4><strong>Qualifications</strong></h4><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred.</li><li>Previous maintenance, custodial, construction, or facilities experience preferred.</li><li>Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair work.</li><li>Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and power tools.</li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently, unsupervised, and accomplish assigned duties efficiently.</li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff, parishioners, vendors, and supervisors.</li><li>Must reside within 10 miles of the parish and be available to respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.</li><li>Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical labor for extended periods.</li><li>Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.</li></ul><p><strong>Work Schedule</strong></p><ul><li>Primary work hours will be afternoons and evenings.</li><li>Occasional weekends, holidays, and on-call availability may be required for parish events, emergencies, weather-related duties, or facility needs.</li></ul><p><strong>Nuts and Bolts</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Current Employee:</strong> Vacant</li><li><strong>Reports to:</strong> Director of Operations</li><li><strong>Classification:</strong> Hourly</li><li><strong>Department:</strong> Parish</li><li><strong>Compensation:</strong> Salaried.
