Be part of a hospital that’s shaping the future of healthcare in Alabama- Where your career can thrive and your community can flourish! </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p>\n<p>Provides and documents individualized patient care to include patient evaluation, education, medication administration, IV therapy, treatments and patient safety as directed by the RN or provider.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates competency in advanced practical nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit specific requisite skills. </li>\n <li>Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team.</li>\n <li>Assists RN or provider during examinations and procedures.</li>\n <li>Documents patient data, and patient education according to Orlando Health and department specific guidelines</li>\n <li>Able to perform triage functions, including assessing the patient and determining the next step in care, working in collaboration as directed by the department's nursing team or provider(s). </li>\n <li>Appropriately administer oral and injectable medications or immunizations per LPN scope and as directed by a provider. </li>\n <li>Maintains a safe and caring environment for both patient and family.</li>\n <li>Assumes an active role in keeping informed about changes in hospital policy, procedure, and equipment.</li>\n <li>Participates in nursing PI activities as assigned. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on the assigned unit.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s/area’s/department’s policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health and Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.</li>\n <li>Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Contributes to the department’s effectiveness by reporting to duty on time, adhering to policy concerning break and lunch, and completing assigned duties in a efficient, effective, and timely manner.</li>\n <li>The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. </li>\n <li>Practices efficient use of supplies. </li>\n <li>Maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education/Training: LPN</strong> Nursing School Graduate.  Successful completion of a 30-hour approved IV therapy course within 30 days of hire for inpatient/SNF only.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure/Certification: Current</strong> nursing license in the State of Alabama.  Maintains current BLS HealthCare Provider certification. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience:  </strong>None</p>\n<p> </p>",
