Position Overview:
Teaches, advises and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities as defined by the tenure and promotion policy in the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook.

The College of Business has 65 full-time faculty and 17 part-time faculty in 6 academic departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems & Operations Management, Management, and Marketing. The College currently offers 15 undergraduate majors serving more than 1,900 students, and 3 graduate programs serving more than 100 students combined. The College of Business at the University of Central Oklahoma prepares students to become productive, ethical and engaged citizens and business leaders while promoting commerce and advancing the quality of life in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
The Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for Visiting position in Management Information Systems at the Assistant level, beginning in August 2026. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. In Management Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related field. ABDs will be considered but must provide strong evidence that the degree will be completed prior to August 2026.
Candidates are expected to have a balanced commitment towards teaching, research, and service. Teaching responsibilities include teaching undergraduate MIS and business analytics courses. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching.
Experience Required:
Teaching, research, departmental, college, and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). **NOTE** If the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will change to TT-Instructor.
Experience Preferred:
Demonstrated potential of high-quality teaching. Experience with SQL, Python, PowerBI, Information Technology or SAS Viya are a plus. Applicants with a Ph.D. or ABD in MIS or a closely related field from an AACSB school will have priority consideration.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to teach introductory and advanced classes in Information Systems. Ability to actively engage students in learning activities.
Physical Demands:

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. In Management Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related field. ABDs will be considered but must provide strong evidence that the degree will be completed prior to August 2026.\\r\\n\\r\\nCandidates are expected to have a balanced commitment towards teaching, research, and service. Teaching responsibilities include teaching undergraduate MIS and business analytics courses. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching.\\r\\n\\r\\nExperience Required:\\r\\n\\r\\nTeaching, research, departmental, college, and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). **NOTE** If the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will change to TT-Instructor.\\r\\n\\r\\nExperience Preferred:\\r\\n\\r\\nDemonstrated potential of high-quality teaching.
