Together, we are making a difference, one life at a time. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You'll Do As A Maintenance Assistant</strong></p>\n<p>The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Assistant is to ensure the proper upkeep of the Agency and/or facility by performing general maintenance and repairs to the building, grounds, and equipment. Additionally, the Maintenance Assistant may be required to handle janitorial duties as needed.  </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Perform routine building maintenance duties such as painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, HVAC, landscaping, etc. </p></li>\n <li><p>Clean and maintain the interior/exterior of building or facility </p></li>\n <li><p>Create, prioritize, manage, and complete work order requests </p></li>\n <li><p>Receive and assemble merchandise, office furniture, wallboards, storage racks, etc. </p></li>\n <li><p>Maintain and perform scheduled routine preventive maintenance on equipment and Agency vehicles </p></li>\n <li><p>Perform partial maintenance after hours to prevent disruption of business activities or operation </p></li>\n <li><p>Ensure the interior and exterior of the building and property is free of hazards </p></li>\n <li><p>Respond to emergency calls after scheduled work hours as needed </p></li>\n <li><p>Coordinate and assist with janitorial duties </p></li>\n <li><p>Other duties and projects as assigned  </p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be at least 21 years of age or older per licensing requirement</li>\n <li>Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks and unplanned requests during shift </li>\n <li>Ability to handle emergencies with or without limited supervision </li>\n <li>Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; ability to assemble using written instructions</li>\n <li>Ability to see the differences in colors, shades, and brightness; ability to see objects in very bright or dim light</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of building maintenance procedures and techniques</li>\n <li>Ability to operate and handle machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for maintenance and repair</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bilingual in English and Spanish (based on service populations and area)</li>\n <li>1-year prior maintenance and repair experience</li>\n <li>Knowledge of reading blueprints</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Perks at Upbring</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive PTO & paid holidays </li>\n <li>Health, dental, vision insurance & more  </li>\n <li>403(b) Plan</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program </li>\n <li>Discounted Gym Memberships  </li>\n</ul>\n<strong>Physical Demands & Work Conditions</strong>\n<ul>\n <li>This position will require constant bending, kneeling, twisting, stretching, and reaching, climbing up and down ladders, frequent walking, occasional sitting, and standing for long periods of time </li>\n <li>Position works in a child facility and has constant exposure to children </li>\n <li>Position requires frequent standing, walking and time in units/cottages which are areas where children reside</li>\n <li>Lift, push, pull, move up to 50 lbs. </li>\n <li>May be required to apply safety intervention with youth that could weigh over 100lbs. </li>\n</ul>The physical requirements for this position with or without reasonable accommodation are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this position successfully.
