Our curriculum engages students in building their academic proficiency and social-emotional skills to be successful.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Opportunity</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>PRCS is seeking a passionate<span> School</span> Social Worker<span> </span>to join the PRCS family for the balance of the 2025-2026 school year! The School Social Worker promotes and enhances our school's overall academic mission by providing services that strengthen home/school/community partnerships and alleviate barriers to learning. The School Social Worker significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe, and caring environment by advancing the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community, and cultural differences on student successes and by implementing effective intervention strategies. This role is managed by our Assistant Principals and regularly collaborates with the School Deans and Director of Student Supports.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the PRCS Character Education programs;</li>\n<li>Handle all Tier 1 &amp; Tier 2 counseling cases;</li>\n<li>Collaborate with school staff specifically teachers and service providers to gather necessary data for IEP development;</li>\n<li>Assist in drafting, reviewing and updating IEP goals for students;</li>\n<li>Engages in restorative practices;</li>\n<li>Use a variety of techniques or methods to gather information to determine students’ need of services and evaluate program needs;</li>\n<li>Assesses and evaluates behavior problems resulting in school violations and helps in different assessments regarding causal relationships;</li>\n<li>Participate in weekly student support meetings with school staff;</li>\n<li>Provide support services for 30-40 students (individual and group) that meet their academic, social and emotional needs, including:\n<ul>\n<li>Setting goals for each student</li>\n<li>Monitoring progress of goals every quarter and writing progress updates</li>\n<li>Meeting regularly with students</li>\n<li>Liaising with students, school staff, family and community agencies.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Identifies and connects with community partners, organizations, and agencies;</li>\n<li>Conduct regular family home visits;</li>\n<li>Participates in the I&amp;RS Team and own a caseload of students;</li>\n<li>Collaborates with Panther Pantry and Student Assistance Fund Initiatives.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications and Skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>An understanding of the community’s health and mental health resources;</li>\n<li>The ability to motivate students and cultivate a culture of achievement and joy;</li>\n<li>A belief that ALL students should be held to high academic standards and can achieve;</li>\n<li>Resilience and perseverance in the face of challenges;</li>\n<li>Professionalism (interactions, communication, duties, and attire);</li>\n<li>Commitment to school transformation and continuous improvement;</li>\n<li>Open to feedback and coaching;</li>\n<li>Strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement;</li>\n<li>Collaborative approach to problem solving.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Educational Background and Work Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A master’s degree in social work and appropriate licenses;</li>\n<li>At least 2 years’ experience as a School Social Worker, preferably in an urban middle school setting.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The Rewards</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive salary and benefits package;</li>\n<li>Robust daily planning periods;</li>\n<li>Unique school calendar, hours, and schedule;</li>\n<li>Professional collaboration with grade and content teams;</li>\n<li>Weekly coaching and ongoing professional development;</li>\n<li>1:1 Chromebooks in every classroom;</li>\n<li>Google Education platform for online assignment management;</li>\n<li>The opportunity to maximize your impact in schools where we are raising the bar for student achievement.</li>\n</ul>",
