    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p><br></p><p data-pasted=\"true\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Support the people behind the mission at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center.</p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">Herndon Solutions Group (HSG) is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner to support Occupational Health Services operations at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC), one of the nation&rsquo;s premier aerospace research and flight test facilities. This role supports workforce health, occupational medicine, emergency response readiness, and mission operations within a highly specialized aerospace and research environment.</p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">This is more than a traditional clinical role &mdash; the selected candidate will work alongside multidisciplinary teams supporting personnel engaged in advanced aerospace research, flight operations, laboratory activities, and mission-critical programs that help shape the future of aviation and space exploration.</p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">This position is contingent upon contract award. The anticipated contract start date is October 1, 2026.</p><p><u><strong>General Description</strong></u></p><p data-pasted=\"true\">The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with the Clinic Medical Director, nursing staff, environmental health personnel, and NASA leadership to ensure delivery of high-quality occupational healthcare services in compliance with NASA procedural requirements, OSHA regulations, FAA standards, and occupational medicine best practices.</p><p>This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, professionalism, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced federal operational setting.</p><p>This position provides occupational medicine services, medical surveillance support, emergency response care, wellness initiatives, and regulatory medical evaluations for NASA personnel, contractors, and mission support teams.</p><p><strong data-pasted=\"true\"><u>How You Will Fulfill Your Mission</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Occupational Health &amp; Clinical Services</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Conduct occupational medicine evaluations and medical surveillance examinations in accordance with NASA procedural requirements and applicable regulatory standards.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform and support:<ul type=\"circle\"><li>Occupational medical examinations</li><li>Medical surveillance evaluations</li><li>DOT/FMCSA medical examinations</li><li>Respirator clearance evaluations</li><li>Fitness-for-duty evaluations</li><li>Travel medical clearances</li><li>Wellness and preventive health screenings</li></ul></li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assess and manage occupational injuries and illnesses within clinic capabilities.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Evaluate and treat urgent or emergent medical conditions until higher levels of care are available.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Review diagnostic testing results including audiograms, spirometry, EKGs, and laboratory testing.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Document all patient encounters accurately within NASA electronic health record systems.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Emergency Response &amp; Preparedness</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Respond to onsite medical emergencies in accordance with NASA emergency response procedures.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Participate in emergency preparedness drills, mock codes, mass casualty exercises, and disaster response activities.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist with Basic Life Support (BLS) and initial Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) interventions during emergency response activities.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support pandemic preparedness and continuity response activities as needed.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Occupational Medicine Program Support</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support implementation of NASA Occupational Health Program requirements and clinic protocols.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist with medical quality assurance and peer review activities.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Participate in occupational health audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support development and implementation of standing orders and clinical procedures under the direction of the Medical Director.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Health Promotion &amp; Wellness</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support employee wellness campaigns, preventive health initiatives, and educational programs.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Participate in health screenings, vaccination campaigns, and health promotion activities.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist with medical clearance activities related to the onsite Fitness Center program.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Collaboration &amp; Operational Support</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, environmental health professionals, and NASA stakeholders.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Provide medical consultation and support regarding occupational health concerns.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions and documentation.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Attend required meetings, training sessions, and operational briefings.</li></ul><p><em>The duties and responsibilities described in this position description in no way state or imply that these are the only duties performed.
