Description

About the Organization Now is a great time to join Redhorse Corporation. We are a solution-driven company delivering data insights and technology solutions to customers with missions critical to U.S. national interests. We’re looking for thoughtful, skilled professionals who thrive as trusted partners building technology-agnostic solutions and want to apply their talents supporting customers with difficult and important mission sets. About the Role Redhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior Solution Architect to lead the technical design and scoping of large-scale, complex IT efforts. This is a high-impact role for a practitioner who thrives in ambiguity—someone who can synthesize evolving requirements into coherent, defensible technical solutions while engaging confidently with both senior government stakeholders and engineering teams. You will serve as the trusted technical voice for our most critical competitive pursuits and strategic client engagements. Redhorse Corporation is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, disability, or any other protected class. Accommodations: If you are a qualified individual with a disability or a disabled veteran, you may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to access job openings or apply for a job on this site as a result of your disability. You can request reasonable accommodations by contacting Talent Acquisition at [email protected] Redhorse Corporation shall, in its discretion, modify or adjust the position to meet Redhorse’s changing needs. This job description is not a contract and may be adjusted as deemed appropriate in Redhorse’s sole discretion. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end technical architecture for enterprise-scale government IT programs, from initial concept through production sustainment. Translate ambiguous, loosely defined requirements into structured solution designs, proactively identifying and documenting critical technical assumptions. Produce high-quality technical reference architectures, system-of-systems diagrams, and design documents suitable for government review. Design cohesive architectures that integrate software applications, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and AI/ML components. Engage directly with government customers to elicit and refine mission requirements, making well-reasoned technical assumptions when guidance is limited. Provide authoritative technical direction to delivery teams, resolving architecture conflicts and approving critical technical deliverables. Ensure all designs comply with government IT standards, including NIST RMF, FedRAMP, and DoD IL2–IL6 requirements. Champion DevSecOps practices, cloud-native patterns, and Agile delivery principles across all solution designs. Required Experience/Clearance Active DoD Secret security clearance and U.S. Citizenship. 10+ years of progressive technical experience in IT architecture, software engineering, or systems engineering. 5+ years in a lead architect or principal engineer role supporting federal government contracts. Demonstrated experience designing complex, multi-component enterprise systems in cloud environments (AWS preferred). Proven ability to drive clarity and technical consensus on programs with incomplete or evolving requirements. Experience with full-stack development principles, API design (REST/GraphQL), and microservices architecture. Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker). Deep understanding of CI/CD pipeline design and DevSecOps integration within DoD or civilian agency environments. Desired Experience Familiarity with Redhorse-preferred tools such as GitLab, Jira, and Databricks. Experience architecting AI-enabled systems, including RAG pipelines, LLM integration, and MLOps lifecycles. Experience with data engineering frameworks, including data lakes, streaming pipelines, and Spark-based architectures. Certification in AWS Solutions Architecture (Professional level) or similar cloud credentials. Experience architecting within SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks. Knowledge of DoD/IC enterprise architecture frameworks and secure supply chain practices.
