BX Civil &amp; Construction developed the Construction Discovery Shadow Program to expose high school students to the heavy highway construction field.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>What is the Construction Discovery Shadow Program?</p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>On-site observatory experience at job sites within the area</li>\n<li>Small, manageable sessions with plenty of time for questions</li>\n<li>Flexible scheduling based on student availability</li>\n<li>All personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided for the student</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Shadow and talk with professionals in the industry regarding:\n<ul>\n<li>Project Management</li>\n<li>Field Technology</li>\n<li>Supervisor Roles<br></li>\n<li>Mechanics</li>\n<li>Estimating<br></li>\n<li>Safety</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>A free program for High School Students\n<ul>\n<li>Limited space is available so apply early</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br>Who is this program for?</p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school students who are:\n<ul>\n<li> 16 years or older</li>\n<li>Thinking about starting a career in construction after high school, or just want to learn more about the field.</li>\n<li>Interested in going to a trade school or community college to study Construction Management, Heavy Equipment Operation, or Diesel Mechanics.</li>\n<li>Considering attending a 4-year college to major in civil engineering or construction management.</li>\n<li>Looking for summer jobs to do between college classes.<br></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Program Requirements:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students must to fill out the application.</li>\n<li>Both the student and their parent must sign a program waiver before starting.</li>\n<li>Students must arrange their own transportation to and from the BX Project Office in Dell Rapids for scheduled sessions.</li>\n<li>This program is only for observing; students cannot join in the actual work.<br></li>\n</ul>",
