From construction management and observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Services market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.  </p> \n<strong>Step Into Your New Role</strong>\n<p>Kleinfelder Construction Services is seeking experienced <strong>Structures Representatives</strong> to join our Construction Management team and to manage and continue expanding our successful portfolio of current and future projects in Southern California (Los Angeles County, Orange County, Inland Empire). </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities as the Structures Representative include the following:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage/administer construction of bridges and structural components of transportation projects.</li>\n <li>Assist in inspections to verify compliance with contract plans, specifications, and special provisions on all aspects of structural construction such as bridges, foundations, walls, falsework, shoring, and drainage structures.</li>\n <li>Provide direction to Assistant Structures Representatives and Inspectors.</li>\n <li>Utilize 4 scale drawings to develop/check critical bridge grades.</li>\n <li>Monitor and inspect pre-stressing operations.</li>\n <li>Review shop drawings such as falsework, shoring, and pre-stressed concrete.</li>\n <li>Assist in the preparation of contract change orders, contract estimates, progress pay estimates, and other documents or reports required for the Project.</li>\n <li>Coordinate the sampling and testing of construction materials to monitor compliance with contract specifications.</li>\n <li>Monitor and track contractor progress. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with Resident Engineer, as well as the construction staking and material testing consultants.</li>\n <li>Verify that contractor is in compliance with contract documents.</li>\n <li>Prepare various Structures Construction Reports.</li>\n <li>Preparation of daily diaries and quantity sheets.</li>\n <li>Read and interpret plans & specifications.<strong> </strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum requirements: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 10 years of bridge or structural construction inspection as related to major public works projects and a minimum of 6 years as a Structures Representative on major public works projects required</li>\n <li>B.S. Civil Engineering or related required. PE in California required </li>\n <li>Specific project experience with Caltrans, OCTA, SBCTA, TCA and/or other southern California municipalities very desirable</li>\n <li>Knowledge of stress analysis, structural mechanics, and strength of materials.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Caltrans construction practices and the physical characteristics and properties of various bridge construction materials including concrete.</li>\n <li>Experience in the following areas: foundations, pile driving, concrete prestressing, bridge deck construction, cast-in-place and MSE walls construction, falsework, and shoring.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently. Ability to perform duties in the construction field office and effectively make decisions concerning construction work in progress and solving field problems.</li>\n <li>Ability to direct the efforts of Assistant Structures Representatives and Inspectors.</li>\n <li>Ability to use an automatic level and transit for the purpose of verifying line and grade.</li>\n <li>Thorough understanding of Caltrans field methods, practices, and construction office procedures.</li>\n <li>Proficient at reading and interpreting plans & specifications.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are required.</li>\n <li>Excellent organization and problem solving skills are essential.</li>\n <li>Professional approach at developing strong client relations. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Move Forward with Kleinfelder:</strong> Kleinfelder and its’ subsidiaries and affiliates, has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961.
