Call us family!</p>\n<h2>About this Role</h2>\n<p>A Foreman at <strong>Southern Electric Corporation </strong>classification will have received their training in an approved forty-two (42) month apprenticeship program or a certified testing program or must have eight (8) years of continuous substation/line construction/maintenance experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This work will be in either Lake Charles, Lafayette and Baton Rouge.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Has worked in the line industry as an apprentice lineman for at least 4 years.</li>\n <li>Must be able to conduct a Job Task Safety Analysis (JTSA) as required. </li>\n <li>Perform work in a safe manner on energized and de-energized distribution systems.</li>\n <li>Capable of safely installing and removing cover up material</li>\n <li>Able to string, sag, and dead-end conductor.</li>\n <li>Experienced in pole/tower climbing using fall protection systems.</li>\n <li>Has the ability to troubleshoot problems on distribution systems?</li>\n <li>Understands procedures to safely dig holes in the presence of underground utilities.</li>\n <li>Ability to safely set/replace poles (wooden, steel, concrete) on an energized distribution system. </li>\n <li>Capable of safely performing a re-conductor job</li>\n <li>Understands minimum approach distances.</li>\n <li>Capable of properly inspecting rubber goods, cover materials, and PPE</li>\n <li>Has the skill sets to safely operate a digger derrick and bucket truck?</li>\n <li>Inspects, maintains company equipment, and trucks in safe working order.</li>\n <li>Able to safely install and remove mechanical jumpers.</li>\n <li>Experienced in identifying primary and secondary voltage on a circuit.</li>\n <li>Understands safe heavy lifting and rigging procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Bring</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>May be required to relocate as work requirements demand.</li>\n <li>May be required to hold a valid class “B” commercial driver’s license.</li>\n <li>May be required to read and interpret blueprints.</li>\n <li>Drives and operates conveyance machinery equipped with tools and materials to and from job site.</li>\n <li>Adheres to all Company Safety and Health Policies</li>\n <li>May work in storm restoration operations to rebuild and/or repair damaged power systems.</li>\n <li>May attend training classes or seminars to gather knowledge of new processes, safety regulations and/or refresher training.</li>\n <li>Works with limited supervision. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lifting and handling materials up to 60 pounds unassisted.</li>\n <li>Capable of climbing wooden poles and towers.</li>\n <li>Walking and working across uneven terrain.</li>\n <li>Climbing on and off large trucks and equipment.</li>\n <li>Exposure to hot and cold weather conditions.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Get</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical </li>\n <li>Dental </li>\n <li>Vision</li>\n <li>401K</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Equal Opportunity Employer</h2>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
