    "description": "<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Water &amp; Sewer Field Maintenance Crew Leader                                                                           </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Water &amp; Sewer</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">JOB SUMMARY</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">This position is responsible for performing a variety of specialized maintenance and repair functions.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">MAJOR DUTIES</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Leads Water Maintenance Repair Crew; serves as day-to-day crew leader. </span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Mows and weeds City grounds.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Removes tree limbs using the sidearm cutter.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Cuts trees and limbs with chainsaw.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Drives flatbed dump truck and/or small dump truck for hauling materials to and from job sites.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Drives bucket trucks and heavy equipment.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Runs loader to load and unload truck, to backfill, and remove dirt from job site.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Serves as traffic control flagger to keep traffic flowing and places road work signs for safety; serves as pole man for surveying.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Operates backhoe for pot hole repairs; repairs pot holes by filling asphalt; assists with manhole repairs.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Installs and repairs sewer lines, lift stations, water taps, meters, BFPs, force main, gravity flow lines and services; repairs water lines, water main lines and services, and fire hydrants; locates water and sewer lines prior to performing repairs to avoid damage.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Repairs concrete driveways, sidewalks, storm drains. Pours forms, places forms, and finishes cement.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Sets up and operates laser transit for ditches, manholes, and pipes to ensure a proper grade.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Rakes ditches and grades; levels out roads and ditches.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Lays brick or block for drain boxes, valve boxes, or drying beds.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Inspects and maintains equipment; fuels trucks and equipment; washes trucks and equipment and lubricates as needed.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Installs decorative lights for special event; sets up stages for special events.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">On call for after hour water/sewer issues.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Performs all other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Knowledge of heavy equipment operation.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Knowledge of carpentry. </span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Knowledge of plumbing and distribution systems, plant operation and meter operation.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Knowledge of masonry.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Knowledge of welding/cutting equipment.</span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Knowledge of safety rules. </span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Knowledge of computers and job related software. </span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Skill in oral and written communication. </span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Skill in operating various types of equipment. </span></li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">Skill in dealing with problems. </span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">SUPERVISORY CONTROLS</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px\">The Operations Superintendent assigns work in terms of general instructions.
