We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative CAD Designer II to oversee the successful completion of drawings for our Axiom Custom Solutions portfolio . This CAD Drafter provides support to Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, New Product Dev, Engineering, Distributors, Installers and Architects in the design and drafting of building construction assemblies and components for custom suspended ceiling systems, from high level concept sketches to detailed Architectural specification drawings. Working from a customer request to order specification, the CAD Drafter converts the specification to a detailed drawing that can be used for customer submittals, installation, and manufacturing, when applicable. Key Responsibilities: 2D drafting of component level parts and sub-assemblies, including those generated from 3D solid models 3D solid modeling with AutoCAD Inventor or Solid Works Technical knowledge of mechanical elements and construction to support preparing technical specification of products Familiarity with shop fabrication methods (sheet bending, welding, cutting, and typical fabrication operations) Review specification/request and identify missing or additional information needed to complete the design project Effectively interact with customers, customer service, sales and manufacturing personnel by phone, email and in person to gather information needed Deliver accurate drawings that meet or beat expected turn around timing of 4 business days. Prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Complete design projects and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision Flexible and adaptable to change Demonstrate commitment to Safety, LEAN, Continuous Improvement and Teamwork Support sales efforts by providing visual representations and technical documentation that aid in closing opportunities. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
