Faculty are expected to teach face-to-face courses on campus and be regularly present to support instruction, laboratory activities, advising, and departmental responsibilities. While the department offers a limited number of online or hybrid courses, these are part of the overall instructional portfolio and do not constitute a remote appointment.</p>\n<p>The primary focus of this position is instruction in General Chemistry I and II (lecture and laboratory) and introductory chemistry courses designed for health and allied health students.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Teaching Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Teach General Chemistry I and II (lecture and laboratory)</li>\n <li>Teach introductory chemistry courses for health professions and non-majors</li>\n <li>Teach additional chemistry courses as departmental needs require</li>\n <li>Teaching assignments will be determined by enrollment patterns and departmental needs. Faculty are expected to maintain rigorous laboratory instruction consistent with transfer-level expectations and pre-professional standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Instructional Focus</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support strong General Chemistry preparation for STEM and Engineering Science students</li>\n <li>Provide clear and structured instruction for allied health and pre-professional students</li>\n <li>Maintain high laboratory standards emphasizing safe and accurate experimental practice</li>\n <li>Contribute to stable enrollment and consistent course sequencing</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Major Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Teach face-to-face Chemistry lecture and laboratory courses</li>\n <li>Maintain regular on-campus availability for student support and advising</li>\n <li>Provide academic advising to support persistence and timely degree completion</li>\n <li>Develop and revise curriculum aligned with program and institutional learning outcomes</li>\n <li>Assess student learning and participate in outcomes-based assessment activities</li>\n <li>Ensure safe laboratory practices and proper use of chemical and analytical equipment</li>\n <li>Use appropriate instructional technology to enhance learning</li>\n <li>Obtain Quality Matters (QM) certification within a reasonable timeframe if teaching online or hybrid courses</li>\n <li>Provide timely feedback on student work and submit required academic materials by established deadlines</li>\n <li>Participate in departmental, school, and college service activities</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Remote Position</h2>No\n<h2>Min Compensation </h2>USD $61,466.00/Yr.\n<h2>Max Compensation </h2>USD $61,466.00/Yr.\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field from an accredited institution from an accredited university, college or foreign equivalency.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>           OR</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master's degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Chemistry from an accredited university, college or foreign equivalency.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience teaching General Chemistry I and II</li>\n <li>Experience teaching introductory chemistry for health or non-majors students</li>\n <li>Experience teaching laboratory courses</li>\n <li>Experience teaching in a community college or open-access institution</li>\n <li>Demonstrated commitment to maintaining academic standards in science coursework</li>\n <li>Bilingual in English and Spanish.
