    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Nemours is seeking an SPD Technician to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Deptford, NJ.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician is responsible for inspection, decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instrumentation within the guidelines set forth by industry standards and regulations to include, but not limited to, the</p><ul><li>International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM)</li><li>Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)</li><li>Association of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN)</li><li>The Joint Commission (TJC)</li><li>U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA)</li><li>Center for Disease Control (CDC)</li><li>Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)</li><li>Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)&nbsp;</li></ul><p>The SPD Technician is accountable for adherence to the policies and procedures of Nemours to include Nemours Children's Health, Delaware, Nemours Children's Health, Malvern, and Deptford Ambulatory Surgery Center (DASC).&nbsp;</p><p>The SPD Technician is responsible for adherence to preference cards in preparing surgical case carts and supporting the operating room central cores based on daily assignments.&nbsp;</p><p><u>The SPD Technician is expected to maintain all state and federal clearances for DE, PA, and NJ for periodic rotation to the Wilmington, DE hospital and the Malvern Surgery Center, PA.</u></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p><ol><li>Responsible for following established protocols for inspecting, decontaminating, preparing and packaging, disinfecting or sterilizing instrumentation, and storing medical/surgical supplies and equipment.</li><li>Responsible for distribution medical and surgical supplies from sterile processing areas to other areas within the facility as needed.</li><li>Responsible for adherence to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).</li><li>Responsible for following safety procedures and manufacturer’s instructions when handling cleaning solutions, supplies and equipment.</li><li>Demonstrates competence in operating equipment used in the sterile processing areas safely and according to the manufacturer’s instructions for use.</li><li>Responsible for monitoring, interpreting, and documenting results of physical, chemical and biological indicators for all types of sterilizers used in the sterile processing areas.</li><li>Responsible for preparing and distributing surgical case carts according to physician’s preference lists and anticipated needs of the perioperative team.</li><li>Responsible for inventory to include receiving and restocking materials used for supporting sterile processing services in collaboration with the Materials Management Department.&nbsp;</li><li>Comply with organizational policies, regulatory and accreditation standards, and professional guidelines.</li></ol><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required</li><li>High School Diploma required</li><li>&nbsp;American Heart Association BLS within six months&nbsp;</li></ul>",
