&nbsp;</p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>General Description</strong></p><p>The Activities Assistant will a<span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">ssist and implement activities/programs which meet the needs and interests for the physical, mental and psycho-social well-being of the residents; (i.e., Horticulture classes, group exercises, intergenerational programming, crafts, woodworking, etc.). &nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Starting wage is <strong>$17.50/hr. and up to $19.89/hr</strong>. depending on relatable experience as determined by hiring manager and HR.&nbsp;</span></p><p><strong id=\"isPasted\">Some fun things you&rsquo;ll do:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Assist in and implement activities/programs for residents.</li><li>May assist with resident outings.&nbsp;</li><li>May coordinate and instruct participation of volunteers with residents.&nbsp;</li><li>May be required to care for facility pets; i.e., dogs, cats, fish and birds.&nbsp;</li><li>Assist in maintenance of recreation equipment and supplies.&nbsp;</li><li>May assist transporting residents in wheelchairs to and from activities.&nbsp;</li><li>May also assist residents to eat in dining rooms, as regulations allow. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>May make simple progress notes regarding 1:1 visits and chart participation via unit flow records</li><li>Maintain resident safety at all times.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong id=\"isPasted\">We are looking for someone who is able to:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Understand and support of Martha &amp; Mary&rsquo;s<em>&nbsp;</em>mission, vision and values.</li><li>Understand and able to deal with confidential information with discretion.</li><li>Have reliable attendance for scheduled hours and the willingness to be flexible in covering additional hours, including weekends, holidays, and other times.</li><li>Maintain perspective and a sense of humor, responds positively to rapidly changing demands.</li><li>Handles people and situations with understanding, diplomacy and tact.</li><li>Sets priorities and handles multiple tasks to deadline.</li><li>Works cooperatively in a team environment.</li><li>Effectively utilize problem solving skills and ability to handle unexpected/unpredictable circumstances.</li><li>Demonstrate initiative.</li><li>Work in situations involving frequent changes of tasks using different techniques, procedures or degrees of attentiveness without loss of efficiency or composure.</li><li>Possess a&nbsp;genuine interest in caring for the elderly and long-term care of residents.</li><li>Efficiently and effectively utilize documentation skills and ability to use medical devises as indicated in a safe manner for resident.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications:&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Education</strong>: High School diploma or GED.</p><p><strong>Experience</strong>: Demonstrated passion for serving elders</p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>About our organization</strong></p><ul><li>Martha and Mary has been caring for children, seniors and families in Greater Kitsap for over 130 years.
