Our rich diversity of people and ideas makes us a stronger, more innovative organization.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>DIRECTOR, POWER OPERATIONS</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Location: LOS ANGELES / ORANGE / RIVERSIDE / SAN BERNARDINO/ VENTURA</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>This role will provide senior leadership and be directly responsible for safety, financial, customer, and operational goals for the assigned business units.</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Reports to the Vice President of Operations with the development of the strategic direction of the business units assigned to the position.</li>\n <li>Establish and manage the goals and objectives for accomplishing projects and utility program work.</li>\n <li>Ensure proper utilization of personnel and equipment.</li>\n <li>Delegate functional activities to subordinates and establish supervisory schedules and responsibilities.</li>\n <li>Host regular meetings with business unit leadership and staff to communicate goals and performance.</li>\n <li>Participate in proposal and contract development, negotiations, and alliance meetings.</li>\n <li>Evaluate bids for conformity with contract requirements and specifications and make recommendations.</li>\n <li>Review bids in compliance with company requirements.</li>\n <li>Assist with the development of performance and labor strategies to compete in new and existing markets.</li>\n <li>Working with field leadership and labor relations, assisting with labor negotiations and grievance management for the business units.</li>\n <li>Prepare project status reports and provide regular updates directly to senior management.</li>\n <li>Ensure all company, customer, and project policies, procedure standards, safety programs, etc., are adhered to join while delivering work or services.</li>\n <li>Provide input and direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.</li>\n <li>Assess competency and development requirements for direct reports.  Provide mentoring and skills transfer to key LOB management staff.  Proactively mentor employees for personal, career and company growth.</li>\n <li>Perform annual performance evaluations.</li>\n <li>Initiate disciplinary action, if required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Actively demonstrating safety is H&M West’s number one value.</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Communicate safety goals and plans to the Line of Business management for implementation.</li>\n <li>Assure all necessary qualifications and certifications are current, by the employee, and by customer.</li>\n <li>Assist with the development and implementation of the LOB Safety Action Plan.</li>\n <li>Communicate safety goals and plans to operational personnel for implementation.</li>\n <li>Ensure safety is operationalized/integrated into all work, constantly driving to make sure that best practices are identified and shared.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Lead Business Development/Sales and Market Growth</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Engage in market business development and sales activities, both individually and in conjunction with company personnel.  Identify potential demand for H&M West services and drive to meet the demand. Support company business development pursuits.</li>\n <li>Manage relationships with existing customers, alliance partners, and leverage them to acquire potential “new customers” within the business units’ area.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Ensure P&L Expectations and Forecasts are Achieved/Accurate</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Adhere to performance goals, operations reviews, and project reviews, including formal auditing processes such as project QA plans, PM requirements, pre-plans, project plans, and post-job reviews.</li>\n <li>Assess equipment requirements for your operations.  Participate in annual equipment budget maintenance programs and disposition of assets.</li>\n <li>Oversee financial forecasting and business plans for your operations and prepare written reports for quarterly and annual business review meetings.</li>\n <li>Continuously manage financial performance against set budgets/plans for your operations.</li>\n <li>Where necessary, ensure delivery of project deliverables, negotiate change orders, and handle escalated billing and invoicing issues.</li>\n <li>Lead others in managing fiscal accountability through the normal operational implementation of work or services.</li>\n <li>Responsible for accuracy of H&M West financial reporting for your operations.</li>\n <li>Actively participate in the claims management process in partnership with the company claims managers and safety managers.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Skills</strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong people management and talent development skills</li>\n <li>Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills</li>\n <li>Customer Relations and Business Building</li>\n <li>Financial Management</li>\n <li>Networking</li>\n <li>Strong analytical skills</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proven experience launching major power overhead distribution and transmission MSAs.</li>\n <li><strong>Switchyard and substation construction experience is a PLUS.</strong></li>\n <li>Experience with Tech Services, UG, and OH distribution work.</li>\n <li>SoCal business acumen (industry, contractors, competitors, customers).</li>\n <li>15 years or more experience in Utility construction and program work.</li>\n <li>10 years or more in operations/management capacity required.</li>\n <li>BS in a related field is preferred or the equivalent in directly related experience is a plus.</li>\n <li>Proven track record of sales, development of successful business proposals, awarded and completed projects required.</li>\n <li>Must have a proven track record of strong safety and project profitability results.</li>\n <li>Exceptional ability to maintain and develop relationships within cross-functional departments, suppliers and management teams.</li>\n <li>Extensive experience in managing resources in a matrixed organization</li>\n <li>Skill in using a broad range of communication methods (verbal, written, formal presentations) to shape and advance management initiatives, and build alliances and partnerships; analyzing policy issues to form solid recommendations.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience in a senior management role and managing projects, ad hoc analysis, and reporting; asset planning and managing operating budgets for large scale asset projects and/or units.</li>\n <li>Experience leading an organization through a department implementation and integration or change process; planning and managing operating budgets and capital budgets for large scale projects and/or units; developing and monitoring strategic and operating plans, and the associated financial and management models and budgets; managing department projects and ad hoc analysis and reporting.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience in utility construction operations, prioritization of resources, and on demand response.</li>\n <li>Certifications or additional education in Construction Management, Contracts Management and/or Project Management is highly desired.</li>\n <li>Ability to travel 20% of the time.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Salary Range:</u></strong></p>\n<p>$160k to $223k (will depend on level of experience & expertise)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Benefits:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Full-time employees are eligible to participate in our benefit plan which includes the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>401(k) Plan</li>\n <li>Employee Stock Purchase Plan</li>\n <li>Health, Dental, & Vision Insurance</li>\n <li>Voluntary Life Insurance</li>\n <li>Voluntary Short Term & Long-Term Disability</li>\n <li>Paid time off</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Henkels & McCoy West LLC. is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities.</strong></p>",
