    "description": "<h2>Job Summary</h2>\n<p>Arrow ARC is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide high-quality perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures at the Atlanta VA Health System. The OR RN will function both independently and under the guidance of the Nurse Manager or designee, ensuring surgical asepsis, patient safety, and collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia care providers. The ideal candidate must be proficient in circulating and scrubbing roles and demonstrate expertise in managing surgical procedures across multiple specialties.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Shifts:</strong> Full-time | Monday-Friday 0700-1530</p>\n<h2>Primary Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Surgical Patient Care:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.</li>\n <li>Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia care providers, and the surgical team.</li>\n <li>Prevent infection through the use of universal precautions, aseptic techniques, and isolation techniques.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Operating Room Duties:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate proper aseptic techniques.</li>\n <li>Operate and manage the mechanics of the OR table and lights.</li>\n <li>Assist anesthesiologists as needed.</li>\n <li>Position patients properly for surgical procedures.</li>\n <li>Conduct sponge counts and complete surgical worksheets.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures.</li>\n <li>Monitor patients’ vital signs and recovery progress.</li>\n <li>Administer medications and provide emergency care as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Equipment and Safety:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Use and maintain OR mechanical equipment such as electro-surgical units, fracture tables, suction devices, and nerve stimulators.</li>\n <li>Check all emergency supplies and equipment per unit routine.</li>\n <li>Maintain good body mechanics and use safety protective devices to prevent injury.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Documentation and Communication:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Complete and accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient care.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate positive and effective interpersonal skills in communication with patients, families, and the surgical team.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Minimum Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state in the United States.</li>\n <li>Certification: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association. Current Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.</li>\n <li>Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of current experience in an operating room setting, exclusive of agency assignments. Must have worked within the last six (6) months in an operating room setting.</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred. An Associate’s Degree or diploma educational level is considered with a valid license and current experience.</li>\n <li>Graduate of a professional nursing school approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in scrub and circulating duties for various types of surgeries (e.g., minor, rectal, abdominal, GU, eye, orthopedic, ENT, bronchoscopy, vascular, neurosurgery, and chest surgery).</li>\n <li>Strong clinical skills in operating room and PACU settings.</li>\n <li>Excellent documentation and communication abilities.</li>\n <li>Ability to provide psychological support and handle emergency situations effectively.</li>\n <li>Team-oriented with a focus on collaborative patient care.</li>\n <li>Ability to complete and successfully pass any required government background check</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Desired Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Preferred Certification:</strong> Current Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certificate accredited by the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI).</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>About Aptive</h2>\n<p>Arrow ARC supports Veterans Health Administration facilities and offices across the U.S. with health care staffing and program support via the 10-year Integrated Critical Staffing Program (ICSP).
