Our teams are dynamic and fast paced since our hardware is cutting edge.\n\n POSITION SUMMARY: \n\nWe are seeking an R&D technician who specializes in precision assembly and testing. As a hands on R&D Technician at AOSense, you will work with physicists and engineers to build and test high performance, fieldable accelerometers, gyroscopes, gravimeters, atomic clocks, frequency standards, and magnetometers, as well as component technologies that we sell commercially to the R&D community.\n\n RESPONSIBILITIES: \n\n Collaborate with physicists and engineers to assemble and test complex quantum sensor and atomic clock hardware\n Procure and track inventories of mechanical, optical, vacuum, and electrical components\n Coordinate component and subsystem fabrication, assembly, and test\n Assemble precision mechanical systems\n Align lasers through optical systems\n Procure and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies\n Collaborate with engineers to define and implement test plans\n Bake out and leak test vacuum systems\n Document and report results of validation testing\n\n Requirements\n\n Demonstrated success in precision mechanical assembly of prototypes and products\n Enthusiasm for developing expertise in new fabrication disciplines\n Proven organizational skills and attention to detail\n Hands on experience with test equipment\n Excellent troubleshooting skills\n Applicants should thrive in a dynamic environment\n U.S. Government contracts require applicants to be U.S. citizens or permanent residents\n\n DESIRED EXPERIENCE: \n\n Expertise aligning and securing micro optical components\n Hands on experience with vacuum system assembly and testing\n Adept in glovebox assembly work\n Sensitivity to cleanliness requirements of vacuum and optical assemblies\n Skilled in mechanical prototyping, including basic machining and finishing operations\n Practical experience with advanced bonding methods, including soldering, brazing, and adhesives\n Proficiency with SolidWorks mechanical design software\n Familiarity with electronics prototyping, including reading schematics, PCB fabrication, assembly, soldering, and rework\n Experience testing low noise analog, mixed signal, and rf electronics\n Basic knowledge of data acquisition and analysis software such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Python\n\n EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: \n\nAssociate degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent professional experience, with experience in an R&D environment\n\n Benefits\n\n Salary depends on qualifications and experience\n Medical and dental\n Retirement\n Stock plan\n\nAOSense is an equal opportunity employer (EOE) and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran or disability status, or any other federal, state or local protected class.\n\nAOSense is committed to providing equal employment opportunity to qualified individuals with disabilities.
