    "requisitionDescription": "<div>\n    <link href=\"https://static.workforcenow.adp.com/mas/mdf-components/23.49.19/styles/froala_editor.pkgd.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" />\n    <link href=\"https://static.workforcenow.adp.com/mas/mdf-components/23.49.19/styles/froala_style.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" />\n\n    <div class=\"fr-view\">\n      <div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><p>Under general supervision, assists with enforcement of animal control laws, leash laws and regulations relating to animal control in the Town; assists with operations of the animal control shelter; performs related work as required.</p><p><strong>Essential Duties</strong></p><p>(Any one position may not include all of the tasks listed, nor do the examples necessarily include all of the tasks performed.)</p><ul><li>Patrols the Town of Cornelius and enforces State and Town animal ordinances,</li><li>Picks up stray animals as required, and transports animals to the Shelter.</li><li>Responds to calls for service and assists with maintaining animal control reports.&nbsp;</li><li>Investigates reports of animal bites and enforces laws requiring quarantine for observation.</li><li>Transports sick animals to the veterinarian and performs welfare checks to confirm animals are treated in a humane manner.</li><li>Issues citations for violations of animal control ordinances including leash laws, noise ordinances, cruelty, failure to provide rabies vaccination, etc.</li><li>Operates animal control vehicle(s) and animal handling equipment.</li><li>Provides information to the public regarding ordinances and regulations.&nbsp;</li><li>Assists with keeping the Animal Shelter open to the public for adoptions and works closely with volunteers at the Animal Shelter.</li><li>Maintains animal control standby duties. Performs other duties as required.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Proficient in specific tasks and duties as required by the assigned department.</li><li>Good organization skills and Ability to multitask.</li><li>Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.</li></ul><p><strong>Education and Experience</strong></p><p>Graduation from high school or equivalent. Some experience in the care and handling of animals; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Special Requirements</strong></p><p>Possession of a valid driver&rsquo;s license.</p><p><strong>Hours</strong></p><p>Approximately 20 hours per week.</p><p><strong>Working Conditions and Physical Demands</strong></p><p>Work with animals involves some degree of risk to personal safety.
