As we have for 130 years, we offer best-in-class programming&ndash;now across 15 sites&mdash;focusing on amix of education, health and wellness, arts and culture, and civic engagement.</p><p>Educational Alliance&rsquo;s Community Schools &amp; Youth Development (CSYD) program delivers high-quality youth development programs throughout the Lower East Side. These services are integrated into the school day, after school programs, and summer enrichment opportunities. Partnering with several NYC public schools, CSYD collaborates with the NYC Department of Youth &amp; Community Development (DYCD), NYC Office of Community Schools (OCS), The Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), and local school communities to meet the needs of young people and their families in all circumstances. Our team of social workers ensures social-emotional learning is embedded in our work, providing individualized care and attention when needed</p><p>Afterschool Group Leaders at Educational Alliance will coach and mentor schoolaged youth; by enhancing social skills, and character development. Using a mentormodel, we will support youth from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. We are committed to providing educational support, using asocial emotional lens. We value our own professional development and successesthat lead to an enriching experience for our program participants because we bringour best selves to work and put the needs of the students first during after schoolhours (M-F from 2 to 6pm).</p><p><strong>Mentoring</strong></p><p>&bull; Take the lead in empowering youth through quality mentoring relationships</p><p>&bull; Support youth development through academic, health and wellness, sports, and/or artsprogramming</p><p>&bull; Serve as positive role models by building self-esteem, motivation and emotional</p><p id=\"isPasted\">&bull; Effectively develop a rapport with participants and parents; while maintaining safety and confidentiality</p><p><strong>Planning and Organization</strong></p><p>&bull; Plan and submit lesson plans and lead student activities</p><p>&bull; Engage with participants during program hours, ensuring student safety and thedevelopment of positive relationships</p><p>&bull; Keep daily attendance records, attend regular supervision meetings and participate inthe program evaluation process</p><p>&bull; Participate in the planning and facilitation of special events and psycho-educational,youth development and academic workshops</p><p>&bull; Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned by supervisors</p><p><strong>Commitment</strong></p><p>&bull; Commitment to being available to work during after school hours 2&ndash;6pm daily Monday&ndash; Friday</p><p>&bull; Consistency in attendance</p><p>&bull; Able to communicate clearly with program staff; openness to giving and receivingfeedback</p><p>&bull; Able to build positive partnerships with day school teachers to support overall successfor our youth</p><p>&bull; Willingness to work extended hours when school is not in session (i.e., Winter Recess,Mid-Winter Recess, Spring Recess, etc.)</p><p>&bull; Willingness to participate in professional development activities, including eveninghours</p><p><strong>Agency Safety</strong></p><p>&bull; Must adhere to Educational Alliance and site specific safety standards</p><p>&bull; Comply with City and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures</p><p>&bull; Maintain clean and safe work environment, notify supervisor of any hazardous issues</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>&bull; High School Diploma with 1 year of professional experience working with youth.
