    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PFH Technology Group</span><span> </span>are seeking a Database Administrator to join one of our key clients to be fully remote in Ireland.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Overview:</span></p>\n<p>A skilled and experienced Database Administrator is required to support a range of strategic projects involving SQL Server environments. This role involves managing, maintaining, and optimizing databases while ensuring performance, security, and reliability standards are met.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide database support for upgrades, assessments, and migrations</li>\n<li>Offer expert advice to stakeholders on all aspects of database management</li>\n<li>Perform troubleshooting and resolution of database-related issues</li>\n<li>Conduct daily monitoring of the database estate</li>\n<li>Implement and enforce SQL Server security best practices</li>\n<li>Manage new database builds, upgrades, and server migrations</li>\n<li>Perform database backups and restores as required</li>\n<li>Install service packs, cumulative updates, and patches</li>\n<li>Monitor and maintain storage resources and database maintenance plans</li>\n<li>Utilize DBA tools for deployment and management tasks</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Deliverables:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct health check assessments of the SQL database estate</li>\n<li>Identify and document SQL Servers/Databases</li>\n<li>Record configuration details, versions, dependencies, and backup status</li>\n<li>Validate backup integrity and test restore processes</li>\n<li>Analyze storage and configuration needs</li>\n<li>Execute database migrations to new environments</li>\n<li>Configure new SQL Servers and instances</li>\n<li>Apply patches and updates</li>\n<li>Transfer databases and create rollback plans</li>\n<li>Post-migration tasks</li>\n<li>Ongoing monitoring of the database environment</li>\n<li>Update documentation</li>\n<li>Decommission outdated or redundant servers</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Skills &amp; Competencies:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 2 years’ experience in SQL Database Administration</li>\n<li>Experience managing and monitoring replicated SQL databases</li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and performance tuning</li>\n<li>Familiarity with business continuity strategies related to database systems</li>\n<li>PowerShell scripting (desirable)</li>\n<li>Proficiency in creating stored procedures, views, and functions</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Personal Attributes:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and take initiative</li>\n<li>Effective communication skills, both written and verbal</li>\n<li>High attention to detail</li>\n<li>Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines</li>\n<li>Collaborative and professional approach when interacting with stakeholders</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>PFH Technology, owned by Ricoh – a Japanese based global ICT company, is a premier provider of end-to-end ICT solutions and a managed services portfolio scaling from SMEs to large Enterprise organisations.
