This position has a term from July 2026 to April 2027, with the possibility of extension.
Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.
The Teaching Assistant will work with the course instructor(s) to provide detailed grading support across multiple courses within the Business Series. They must maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times, as well as exercising tact and good judgment. The individual(s) hired must maintain effective and professional working relationships with the other Teaching Assistants as well as University Administrators and students at all times.
Responsibilities
Actively communicate with course instructors to ensure a seamless workflow for grading and course administration.
Develop and implement solutions to manage, and in some cases automate, the grading process for all assignments. This includes supporting Grading TA's in ensuring there is accurate, efficient and timely grading completed, and preventing/identifying/responding to grading inconsistencies. Where automation is appropriate, ensuring programming solutions meet the intended needs of the assignment. Maintain strict confidentiality, discretion, tact, and good judgment regarding all student information and grading matters. Provide detailed grading support across multiple courses.
Qualifications
A University Bachelor degree Exceptional organizational and time management skills Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness Strong attention to detail with respect to importing/exporting large amounts of data between platforms (i.e, between an LMS and other platforms) Strong analytical and audit skills to investigate cases of Academic Integrity Strong communication skills and ability to prepare clear, evidence-based reports Strong understanding of statistics Experience with Version Control, Data Integrity and Privacy Advanced competence using Microsoft Excel Experience with appeal management and ethical decision-making Assets:
Experience using a variety of student assessment platforms such as Canvas, Kritik, Wooclap, JobScan, etc.
