assist with minor surgical/diagnostic exams; assist patients to understand recommendations given by their health care providers; performs patient care functions; post patient’s information to medical records; answer and screen medical calls; provide support in planning continuity of treatment. </span><span>Adhere to Clinica Romero’s mission and core values: Compassion, Commitment to Service, Quality Care, Respect, and Dignity; and complies with all policies and procedures of the organization.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities:   </span>                </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Take and record vital signs; report abnormal findings to provider.</span></li>\n<li><span>Perform: venipuncture; EKG; apply/remove dressings and bandages; collect non-invasive specimens from both adults and children; assist patient in ambulation/transfer; perform simple lab test; read PPD skin tests; perform visual acuity/audiometric screening; perform finger sticks; obtain throat swabs; perform ear lavage; administer medication/vaccines as per CMOAR policy/ procedure and scope of practice including Pulmoaid.</span></li>\n<li><span>Document reason for patient’s visit.</span></li>\n<li><span>Observe signs, symptoms and reactions and report unusual conditions as appropriate.</span></li>\n<li><span>Prepare consent forms as needed and required.</span></li>\n<li><span>Administer and document treatments as per policy and procedure.</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain laboratory logs.</span></li>\n<li><span>Collect and label specimens; prepares appropriate lab slips with 100% accuracy.</span></li>\n<li><span>Prepare/assist the provider with examination and/or procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide patient/family education related to treatment and after care according to policy and procedures.  Explain all procedures and treatments to patient prior to their performance.  Assure patients/family’s understanding by obtaining verbal feedback or return demonstration.</span></li>\n<li><span>Adhere to infection control practices: Universal Precautions; Hand Washing; Sterile/Aseptic technique.</span></li>\n<li><span>Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide.</span></li>\n<li><span>Respond to emergency situations according to established policies.</span></li>\n<li><span>Demonstrate knowledge in proper use of equipment and emergency procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain a safe, clean work area.</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain and observe ergonomics safety precautions.</span></li>\n<li><span>Promote cost effectives by utilizing equipment and supplies in an efficient manner.</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain established stock levels in assigned areas</span></li>\n<li><span>Learn and use current MIS system.</span></li>\n<li><span>Adhere to HIPPA guidelines.</span></li>\n<li><span>Discharge and arrange follow up appointments.</span></li>\n<li><span>Document pertinent patient data.</span></li>\n<li><span>Assure timeliness of services rendered to patients.</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist with translation as needed </span></li>\n<li><span>Assist Pharmacy Clerk, LVN and D.O.N. with monthly check medication expiration in the dispensary.</span></li>\n<li><span>Generate and route data forms to appropriate destination (billing, medical records, etc.).</span></li>\n<li><span>Review super bill forms.</span></li>\n<li><span>Organize time and promotes team effort.</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain current CPR.</span></li>\n<li><span>Perform clerical duties as assigned.</span></li>\n<li><span>Attend in-services and/or trainings.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to lift/move up to 15 pounds.</span></li>\n<li><span>Other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications/Requirements:      </span>                                       </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Medical Assistant certification</span></li>\n<li><span>One-year experience in related field.</span></li>\n<li><span>CPR certification</span></li>\n<li><span>High School graduate or equivalent</span></li>\n<li><span>Basic computer skills</span></li>\n<li><span>Bi-lingual English/Spanish required</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written; work without close supervision, detail oriented and well organized.</span></li>\n<li><span>Customer service skills: communication, empathy, patience, and technical knowledge</span></li>\n<li><span>Work in team-oriented environment, and work well under deadlines.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work at multiple clinic sites</span></li>\n<li><span>CA driver’s license and auto insurance </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>",
