Helps coordinate work shift activities within the department. Assists in orientation, continuous quality improvement, cost containment and maintenance of standards of care. Provides input for performance evaluation. Ensure a clean and safe work area. Provides skilled vascular sonography services consistent with licensure and certifications.</p><h3 style=\"font-size: 14px; margin: 6px 0px;\"><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></h3><p style=\"font-size: 12px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Education:</strong> 2 Year/Associate's Degree required. Graduation from an accredited program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or ARDMS registrant. Must meet the education requirement for diagnostic medical ultrasound certification with either ARDMS or ARRT.</p><p style=\"font-size: 12px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Experience:</strong> 2 years of experience required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.</p><p style=\"font-size: 12px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Licensure:</strong> ARDMS certified, RVT preferred.</p><p style=\"font-size: 12px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Additional Skills/Requirements Required:</strong> Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communications. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly. Ability to perform diagnostic procedures and to meet the specific needs of various patient age groups: neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.</p><p style=\"font-size: 12px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred:</strong> Leadership development.</p><p style=\"font-size: 11px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Patient Care: Ensures patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.<ul><li>Explains the procedure and post-procedure orders to the patient to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.</li><li>Prioritizes workflow in regard to patient condition and ensures patients' arrival and departure occur in a timely manner.</li><li>Provides an atmosphere conducive to gain the patient's cooperation and confidence.</li><li>Utilizes data received from patient satisfaction and practice performance results to identify opportunities to improve and participates in the planning and improvement process.</li></ul></li><li>Compliance: Follows and supports OSHA regulations and uses universal precautions when required.<ul><li>Cleans examination surfaces between patients.</li><li>Provides clean linen including sheets, gowns, pillowcases, and towels.</li><li>Immediately cleans spills following universal precautions.</li><li>Properly stores accessory equipment when not in use.</li></ul></li><li>Teamwork: Works within a team to achieve patient and team goals.<ul><li>Shares and initiates regular and professional communication with co-workers.</li><li>Facilitates and participates in regular staff meetings.</li></ul></li><li>Technical Competency: Follows routine standards and properly and safely manipulates equipment, within its limitations, to obtain images.<ul><li>Maintains sterile equipment and fields.</li><li>Adjusts cameras to obtain the proper density and contrast.</li><li>Performs any necessary warm-up and quality control procedures on the equipment.</li><li>Uses protocols to obtain images of internal structures.</li><li>Critiques images for quality and makes necessary judgments to determine if repeat is necessary.</li></ul></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"font-size: 11px; margin: 4px 0px;\">&nbsp;</p><p><strong>The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><h3 style=\"font-size: 14px; margin: 6px 0px;\"><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></h3><p style=\"font-size: 12px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Physical Demand Code:</strong> Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping.
