As a member of the inter-professional team providing person-centred care, the RPN will complete patient assessments, health teaching &amp; family counselling, documentation, set-up/monitoring &amp; trouble shooting of hemodialysis machines and respond to rapid changes in the patient’s hemodynamic status within the scope of practice for a hemodialysis RPN in partnership with the RNs/ Interprofessional team. The RPN will play an active role in the unit on quality improvement/research project teams.</p>",

          "text": "<ul><li>Completion of college or other approved Registered Practical Nursing Program required.</li><li>Current certificate of registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario required.</li><li>Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification required.</li><li>Completion of a medication course for RPNs required</li><li>Nephrology 1 and 2 courses completed from a recognized Nephrology Nursing Certificate Program (Successful applicants who had not previously completed the Nephrology course will be expected to enroll within one year and complete within three years)</li><li>Health Assessment / Physical Assessment course an asset</li><li>Minimum&#xa0;5 years medical/surgical acute care nursing experience required</li><li>Minimum of&#xa0;3 years of hemodialysis experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience</li><li>Experience with medication administration (by multiple routes) required</li><li>Practicum experience (ranging from 62.5 to 485 hours) required.</li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills</li><li>Strong team building and conflict resolution skills</li><li>Excellent patient assessment skills</li><li>Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all</li><li>Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards</li></ul>",
