Join us on this meaningful journey where your skills, compassion and dedication will make a remarkable difference in the lives of those we serve.</p><p><strong>How you’ll contribute&nbsp;</strong></p><p>A&nbsp;Registrar who excels in this role:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services.</li><li>Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service.</li><li>Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process.</li><li>Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public.</li><li>Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.</li><li>Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.</li><li>Meets with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation.&nbsp;</li><li>Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.</li><li>Communicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.</li><li>Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What we’re looking for&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Applicants should have obtained a High School Diploma or GED (Preferred). Additional requirements include:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate’s Degree Preferred.</li></ul><p><br>Certifications:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually.</li></ul><p><br>Skills:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<br><strong>Schedule</strong>: PRN (as needed)</p><p>This position does not have a set weekly schedule. You’ll be called in to work when extra help is needed—such as covering for someone, handling busy periods, or filling gaps in the schedule.
