This job can be described as: The Seal Repair Assistant helps assist the activities of other team members in the manufacturing process. Assists in the seal assembly process requiring basic knowledge on Chesterton Seal designations and component parts. Sets up and operates simple machinery. Operates hand/power and air tools. Performs routine process quality control functions. Maintains inventory of seal parts. This role will also be responsible for performing simple repair tasks and will ensure that tools and equipment’s are kept in clean and working order. Job Model: On-Site All fully remote positions have no regular expected onsite scheduled days. Fully remote employees may be required to come onsite due to business needs. Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager. On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts. A typical day at work would include: Consistent, regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job. Supports skilled seal repair technicians by performing tasks like cleaning seal components and preparing parts for repair. Assists with disassembly and reassembly of seals. Thoroughly cleans and inspects seals returned seals and components to remove direct, debris and contaminants. Sorts and organizes seal parts, verifying part numbers against repair order and maintains stock levels of common seal components. Ensures proper documentation of repair procedures. Assists the technician in carefully disassembling seals, removing worn parts, and properly assembling repaired seals according to specifications. Performs simple repair tasks like replacing O-rings, cleaning sealing surfaces or minor adjustments under supervision. Inspects repaired seals properly fit, functionality and adherence to quality standards. Maintains repair logs, documenting parts used and updating job status within the system. Experience you need coming into this job: 1-3 year experience in manufacturing setting preferred. Basic understanding of mechanical principles and how seals function. Works under direct supervision. Ability to ask direction from supervisor when more complex decision-making is required. Ability to make basic decisions corresponding with written procedures and instructions. Ability to read and comprehend written/verbal instructions and/or procedures. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
