The Residential Aide supports this mission by assisting with client intake, monitoring resident safety and well-being, enforcing facility policies, and maintaining a secure and respectful living environment. The Residential Aide role involves direct interaction with clients navigating complex challenges and requires a consistent presence, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm, level-headed, and professional in emotionally charged or unpredictable situations.  </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Welcome new residents and provide orientation to shelter policies, services, and daily routines</li>\n <li>Assist with client check-ins, discharges, and documentation using DHS CARES system</li>\n <li>Monitor resident safety and behavior through regular rounds and informal engagement</li>\n <li>Enforce facility rules while maintaining a respectful and supportive environment</li>\n <li>Respond to incidents and complete timely, accurate reports</li>\n <li>Support residents in accessing services by making referrals and coordinating with case managers</li>\n <li>Maintain cleanliness and security of resident rooms, including tagging and storing personal belongings when needed</li>\n <li>Communicate facility maintenance needs to supervisors and ensure common areas are orderly</li>\n <li>Build rapport with residents and offer guidance during daily interactions</li>\n <li>Uphold confidentiality and follow all agency and DHS protocols</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (GED) required</p></li>\n <li><p>Minimum of one year experience working with individuals facing homelessness, substance use, mental health challenges, or other complex needs</p></li>\n <li><p>Familiarity with shelter operations or supportive housing environments preferred</p></li>\n <li><p>Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal databases (e.g., DHS CARES system)</p></li>\n <li><p>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or crisis situations</p></li>\n <li><p>Commitment to trauma-informed care, confidentiality, and ethical standards in client interactions</p></li>\n <li><p>Willingness to obtain CPR certification and/or Food Protection Certificate during employment </p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Information </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a full-time non-exempt role with an hourly rate of $17.14 (annualized at 35 hours a week to $31,200) with a full benefits package. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 25 days of paid time off, access to a retirement account with an employer to match, and tuition reimbursement. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role is located at 2008 Westchester Avenue Bronx, New York and has a schedule of Saurday - Wednesday 12am-8am </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>For payroll and systems purposes, this role is titled “Residence Worker”. </p>\n<p>  </p>\n<p>  </p>\n<p>#li-onsite </p>",
