Position Description: Reporting to the Vice President, Training NA, EHS and HR Canada is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Cam Tran Health, Safety and Environmental program across Canada. This position will provide guidance and interpretation of regulatory requirements, and policies.   Position Responsibilities/Duties: Provides technical advice as it relates to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) issues and opportunities for continuous improvement, and/or compliance. Maintains and evaluates existing HSE framework and incorporates development or changes as required. Fosters a culture of Safety awareness while identifying risks and opportunities for improvement. Aligns HSE policies with federal, provincial, and local regulations and/or mandates. Assists with the development and execution of Emergency Preparedness and Response programs (including Evacuation, First Aid and AED programs). Ensures compliance with Canadian statutory provisions and completes required documentation as required. Develops custom safety training material and delivers training. Outsources and engages external consultants and third party training agencies where required Develops and maintains Job Hazard Analysis for safety critical production activities Conducts safety incident and near miss investigations, initiates and follows up on required corrective actions, follows all early and safe return to work procedures and WSIB requirements for return to work. Manages pre start review (PSR) activity and maintains documentation, engaging external consultants and third party training agencies where required Establishes, monitors, reports and uses environmental health and safety program Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Participates, leads and advises on incident investigations and implements corrective actions. Requirements Qualifications: Post secondary education in health, safety and environment or relevant field. Minimum five years of experience in health, safety and environmental program management in a multi site, manufacturing environment. Experience resolving health, safety, and environmental questions and concerns in a timely manner. Experience with risk management, incident investigation, program development, behavioral based safety, job hazard analysis, and root cause analysis. Associate Safety Professional (ASP) OR Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or related designation. Special Knowledge, skills and abilities required:  ·       Demonstrated leadership in driving a program/system of safety or environmental in an enterprise environment. ·       Strong safety regulatory knowledge and expertise including OSHA, and EPA required. ·       Experience with risk management, incident investigation, program development, behavioral based safety, job hazard analysis and root cause analysis desired. ·       Strong leadership, project management, analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. ·       Strong working knowledge in employment law. ·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ·       Strong organizational skills and able to effectively prioritize workload. ·       Ability to create accountability and to lead by example. ·       Proficient with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and navigate various operating systems.
