Our sister society, 43 Housing, provides nearly 400 units of affordable housing for seniors, families, and adults with disabilities.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>To learn more about SHARE Family &amp; Community Services:</em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>watch this video <a href=\"https://vimeo.com/316966573\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https://vimeo.com/316966573</a></li>\n<li>Visit our website at  <a href=\"https://sharesociety.ca/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https://sharesociety.ca/</a></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">The Role</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs to address the communication skills of pre-school and school aged children in collaboration with their families.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Key Impact Areas</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assesses and evaluates children’s physical abilities using standardized assessment tools and non-standardized assessment including observation, interview and review of medical and developmental reports.</li>\n<li>Plans and develops goals for speech and language services in consultation with the family and based on the assessment results and the priorities of the family.</li>\n<li>Provides direct therapy services to individuals and groups of children and their families to implement speech and language programs based on established goals.</li>\n<li>Provides instruction, guidance and advice to families, childcare programs and other service providers on implementation of components of the speech and language program.</li>\n<li>Recommends adaptive equipment and provide specialized therapy services as needed to meet the child’s therapeutic needs. Refers families to other community services and professionals as needed.</li>\n<li>Liaises with school teams, educators, community service providers, and other professionals to ensure coordinated and consistent therapies and services.
