Description
Are you a skilled therapist, counsellor, or social worker passionate about supporting tamariki (children) to achieve safe and healthy futures?
Join a specialist, values-driven team making a meaningful difference in the lives of tamariki and whānau across Te Waipounamu.
What you'll do
Undertake comprehensive, child-centred assessments that consider safety, wellbeing, and the underlying drivers of behaviour
Develop and deliver tailored, evidence-based interventions for tamariki who have engaged in harmful or concerning sexual behaviour
Work closely with whānau, caregivers, schools, and other professionals to support safe, consistent, and nurturing environments
Promote accountability, safety, and positive behaviour change while upholding the mana and dignity of each child
Contribute to safety planning and risk management alongside multidisciplinary partners
Maintain accurate client records and actively participate in reflective clinical review processes

What you bring
A recognised qualification in psychology, counselling, social work, or a related mental health discipline, with current professional registration (e.g. NZ Psychologists Board, NZAC, SWRB)
Experience (or a strong interest) in working with tamariki who display harmful or concerning sexual behaviours, ideally within a trauma-informed framework
Sound understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and risk assessment
Ability to balance therapeutic engagement with accountability and safety
Strong skills in working with whānau and building collaborative, culturally responsive relationships
