They also assist a trained, credentialed cardiology attending during stress echocardiogram and TEE procedures. Additionally, the position is responsible for complete knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>A day in the life of a Echocardiographer at Hackensack Meridian <em>Health</em> includes:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs echocardiograms including 2-D, 3-D when applicable, strain, M-Mode, color flow imaging and doppler studies.</li>\n <li>Recognizes need for contrast imaging enhancement and administers as per protocol.</li>\n <li>Responsible for the preliminary measurement and documentation within the Cardiovascular Information Systems to be used by reading physicians and cardiologists in finalizing echocardiography reports. All critical findings to be timely escalated and communicated to the ordering physicians and cardiologists.</li>\n <li>Obtains patient history and performs procedures as ordered.</li>\n <li>Helps patients onto and off of bed.</li>\n <li>Notifies supervisor in cases of acute or life threatening abnormalities.</li>\n <li>Obtains digital acquisition and storage of echo study in Cardiovascular Information Systems for physician interpretation.</li>\n <li>Transports equipment to the patient's room for bedside studies, as needed.</li>\n <li>Calibrates, cleans and maintains equipment and reports breakdowns and supply needs.</li>\n <li>Follows special procedure policies regarding probe maintenance and sterile processing ( ie TEE).</li>\n <li>Completes EPIC workflow and processes billing charge requisition, log books, worksheets and reports, as applicable.</li>\n <li>Cleans and prepares room for the next patient.</li>\n <li>Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).</li>\n <li>Adheres to the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) and those identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.</li>\n <li>Participates in performance initiatives and monitoring.</li>\n <li>Performs other tasks as assigned.</li>\n <li>Other duties and/or projects as assigned.</li>\n <li>Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school and/or graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program with a specialty in cardiac sonography.</li>\n <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>\n <li>Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>One-year clinical echocardiography experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Licenses and Certifications Required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification or Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certification or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certification.</li>\n <li>BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Contacts:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regular contact with Medical Center personnel, patients and visitors.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Working Conditions:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a maximum of 375 lbs. and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If you feel the above description speaks directly to your strengths and capabilities, then please apply today!</p>\n<h2>Starting Minimum Rate</h2>Minimum rate of $38.27 Hourly\n<h2>Job Posting Disclosure</h2>HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
