Overview
Working as an Interventional Radiographer here at Springfield Memorial you will provide technological support of the Interventional Radiology suite in the performance of various diagnostic and therapeutic invasive and procedures. Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values.
Schedule
Full Time, Day Shift
7:00am-5:30pm
Rotating Weekends
On-Call one night a week and one weekend a month
$20,000 Sign-on Bonus
Qualifications
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
Registered radiographer (ARRT-R) in good standing or registry eligible. If not otherwise specified by the professional licensing body, the maximum allowable time to practice in a “registration pending” status is three months.
Has successfully completed Radiography accreditation procedures with the IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety, but has not received the certificate of accreditation.
Maintain BLS CPR Certification.
Experience:
Operational background and / or experience with microcomputers, required.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, required.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a licensed Rad Tech performs a variety of Interventional/Neuro-Interventional procedures on patients of all ages, according to established standards, policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.
Maintains technical skills relating to imaging factors.
Reviews scout films and subtraction films for quality and completion.
Maintains skills in performing emergency and routine patient care as required.

Operates radiographic equipment / controls to produce optimal diagnostic image quality.
Operates non-radiographic equipment including EKG monitor, patient monitors, pulse oximeter, intra-arterial pressure monitor, oxygen and suction.
Maintains adequate level of inventory and notify clinical specialist of needs or changes.
Practices proper aseptic technique and utilize proper infection control practices.
Follows radiation safety guidelines.
Remains current in life support procedures and current CPR certification.
Assists and / or administer contrast media / pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a Radiologist.
Remains proficient in diagnostic procedures and assist when possible.
Participates in continuing education and maintain knowledge of current and new technology.
Maintains an excellent guest relations rapport with patients, visitors, Physicians and fellow employees.
Schedules patient exams and coordinate with emergency room and Physicians' offices.
Reviews all special procedure requisitions for accuracy and completion.
Ensures radiology information system patient / exam data is maintained accurately and processed in a timely manner.
Performs other related work as required or requested.
