You will be responsible to lifeguard the pool during summer camp, public events and swim lessons. This role requires availability during the week and on weekends.</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-size: 16px\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Please DO NOT apply for this position unless you have a current lifeguard certification OR have registered for a course and can provide the date of your training.</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-size: 16px\"><span>The candidate must have all required clearances and documentation on file before beginning employment at The Campus.</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-size: 16px\"><span>The candidate must </span><span>have working papers if under the age of 18.</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-size: 16px\">Lifeguard certification from an <span style=\"font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">accredited program</span> should be obtained on your own and is <span style=\"font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">required</span> PRIOR to the start of employment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-size: 16px\">S</span><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-size: 16px\"><span>trong swimming skills, positive communication skills and confidence are essential.</span></span><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-size: 16px\"><br></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-size: 16px\">Duties of the Lifeguard include:</span><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-size: 16px\"> </span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span>Opening and closing the pool each day per assigned procedures according to scheduled hours</span><span>.</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"> </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Working in cooperation with any other lifeguards assigned to maintain constant pool supervision.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">ACTIVE pool scanning and monitoring during your shift. Lifeguard needs to be ready to jump in and positioned either on stand or patrolling within one foot of the pool edge at all times.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Change body position every 5 minutes according to safety standards and position yourself so that glare or other obstacles do not limit your view of the pool and pool bottom.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Refrain from cell phone, smartwatch or other tech devices while actively guarding.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span>Educating swimmers on safe behavior and partnering with other staff to achieve this goal.</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"> </span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Summer Camp: Conduct a basic swim test at the start of each week (and then as needed) for each camper to determine swim competency. Ensure campers are either wearing a band to indicate that they passed or a lifevest.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span>Closely monitoring all activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout shift</span><span>.</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span>Directing swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions such as weather; alert management immediately.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span>Maintaining a clean pool environment and reporting any issues to the Pool Area Manager, Events Director or Summer Camp Director.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><span>Assisting with other summer camp needs as assigned if the pool area is closed.</span></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">This Summer position will include Monday through Friday hours at our Summer Camp, public events on weekends and late afternoon weekday swim lessons.</span></span></p>",
