To assist residents in preparing and hosting cultural activities for students of German. To prepare and lead 2-3 one-hour weekly discussion groups for students enrolled in upper-level German courses. To assist German faculty members with departmental tasks as assigned.</p>\n<p><strong>Transferable Skills:</strong> clear communication, attention to detail, organization, responsibility, interpersonal skills, leading small group discussion and study sessions</p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities: </strong>to speak German at all times in the German RLC and to encourage residents to do the same; to help create and present monthly cultural activities hosted by RLC residents; to attend and animate the German Conversation Table (Stammtisch); to work with instructors of upper-level German courses in planning and leading weekly small-group discussion sessions for students enrolled in those courses; to assist German faculty with departmental tasks as assigned.</p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)</strong> The student who holds this position is identified by The University of Konstanz (Germany). If no such student is available, the German Department will solicit applications from degree-seeking St Olaf students. The student must have excellent spoken and written German, strong intercultural and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
